Insmnia is the mst cmmn sleep disrder in the US, the researchers wrte in their reprt, nting that 10% t 15% f peple in the US struggle with it. The meta-analysis f previusly published research suggests that the ptential assciatin between insmnia and heart attack risk is strngest in wmen.
Dr. Martha Gulati, directr f preventin at the Cedars-Sinai Smidt Heart Institute, said that mst f her patients are wmen and that insmnia is a nted risk factr fr wmen wh have had any frm f ischemic heart disease. “We see it prbably in 1 in 10 patients in the United States,” said Gulati, wh was nt invlved in the new research. “It is my impressin that almst everyne experiences insmnia at sme pint in their life. The estimate is that 1 in 2 adults experience it at sme pint in their life, maybe in the shrt term because f stressful mments.”
Fr their analysis, the researchers defined insmnia as a sleep disrder with three main symptms(症状): Difficulty falling asleep, difficulty staying asleep and waking early and being unable t fall back asleep.
