On ur way t the campsite, Steve pinted t a small huse faraway in ne f the muntains, saying that it was the ranger statin (护林站) where the frester wrked.
Finally, after a lng walk, we reached the campsite and set up the camp as the sun was setting. Steve knew all the tricks f an experienced wilderness camper. After we gathered enugh wd frm the frest, he started the campfire using nly stne and steel — n matches. Fr supper we feasted n freeze-dried beef, wild rice and pea sup. I ate greedily after all that wrk.
Tired enugh, we climbed int ur sleeping bags early and talked abut ur plans fr fishing the next day. We were still talking quietly when a sudden nrth wind picked up; the temperature drpped and it began t snw. Steve fund a way t increase the temperature inside the tent. He dragged a lg (原木) frm the frest t the ppsite side f the campfire. Then he wrapped (包裹) aluminum fil (铝箔) arund the lg. The heat frm the fire reflected ff the fil and int the tent. Sn images f lake fish were filling my dreams.
The snw had stpped, but smetime later a pwerful wind must have kicked up the flames f ur dying fire. I was abruptly awakened by Steve. Our tent was n fire. Frightened, I ran ut f the tent immediately. The tent cllapsed (倒塌) with Steve inside. Withut any thught f endangering myself, I reached int the burning tent and pulled him t the icy lake. Frtunately, we were nt seriusly hurt.

Hwever, while Paul was saying this, anther student, Brian, was thinking hw he culd win. Brian did nt play any sprts and was nt very strng. But he lved airplanes and really wanted t win the cntest.
Brian realized what he had t d. He went t the stre and bught a big stack (叠) f paper. When he gt hme, he tk the paper int his backyard. He tk a piece f paper and flded an airplane. It didn’t g very far, s Brian tk anther piece and flded anther airplane and threw it. This airplane went a little farther. Brian kept flding different kinds f airplanes and thrwing them.
