展开现在分词是英语中一种很重要的非谓语动词形式, 恰当使用能使语言简洁、生动。现在分词 (短语) 在句中可以充当表语、定语、状语和补足语, 掌握好以下3个现在分词作状语的句型, 必将极大地助力于读后续写。
句型一: 主谓……,+ding…1. After their mther left the rm, the children sat there, thinking abut Bernard. (2020年新高考全国Ⅰ卷) (孩子们坐在那里,sat是谓语动词,与之同时发生的一个动作是他们想着小男孩Bernard的事情。为了突出这一动作,该句使用了现在分词短语thinking…作伴随状语。)
2. He std up, hugged his parents, and smiled, trying nt t let his emtins get the better f him. (2020年1月浙江卷) (他站起来,拥抱了父母,微笑着,std, hugged, smiled是谓语动词,与之同时发生的一个动作是他努力控制情绪。为了突出这一动作,该句使用了现在分词短语trying…作伴随状语。)

[发现规律]该句型中,现在分词短语可以是表示一个伴随谓语动作的心理动作(例句1,2),通常会用到thinking, hping, expecting, wishing, wanting等表示心理活动的词。也可以是表示另一个非心理动作(例句3)。下面的句型二规律相同。

2. Lying awake in the dark, Jane wanted very much t be with Tm and her family. (2016年10月浙江卷) (Jane很想与Tm及家人在一起, wanted是谓语动词, 与之同时发生的一个动作是她躺在那里,醒着。为了突出这一伴随动作,该句使用了现在分词短语lying…作伴随状语。)
句型三: 主语+谓语……, 主格名词+ding…
1. He std there, tears f gratitude welling up in his eyes. (他站在那儿,std是谓语动词,与之同时发生的另一件事是,泪水夺眶而出。为了突出这件事,该句使用了“主格名词+ding”的结构作伴随状语,这一结构也叫做“独立主格结构”,He是句子的主语,tears只能降级为主格,是非谓语动词welling动作的实施者,但不是整个句子的主语。)
