* Character sheets – ne A4 sheet fr each character with all their details: name; age; address; physical descriptin; persnality type…
* Dialgue recrds – an extra page where I nte their favrite wrds and dialgues.
* Phtgraphs – I use phts cut frm magazines fr inspiratins as t what they lk like.
I’m als a big fan f spreadsheets. I create ne that has the name, date f birth and age f my characters at any given time in the nvel – r nvels if it’s a series. This is particularly helpful fr cntrlling timelines, as I nly need t change ne date and the rest are set up t update autmatically.
I als use a spreadsheet fr keeping track f the plt s I knw what happens t each character in each chapter. I create the spreadsheet befre I start and fill it in as I g. It’s fr tracking nt pltting, but it culd be used fr that if yu pltted what happens in each chapter.

A I’m nt sure what the best way is, but here are sme f the methds I use. Mst f my recrds are n paper. I have a huge flder, and in it are the fllwing:
* Character sheets – ne A4 sheet fr each character with all their details: name; age; address; physical descriptin; persnality type…
* Dialgue recrds – an extra page where I nte their favrite wrds and dialgues.
* Phtgraphs – I use phts cut frm magazines fr inspiratins as t what they lk like.
I’m als a big fan f spreadsheets. I create ne that has the name, date f birth and age f my characters at any given time in the nvel – r nvels if it’s a series. This is particularly helpful fr cntrlling timelines, as I nly need t change ne date and the rest are set up t update autmatically.
I als use a spreadsheet fr keeping track f the plt s I knw what happens t each character in each chapter. I create the spreadsheet befre I start and fill it in as I g. It’s fr tracking nt pltting, but it culd be used fr that if yu pltted what happens in each chapter.
