现在分词作状语 现在分词(短语)作状语，可以表示时间、让步、条件、原因、方式和结果，相当于一个状语从句。在分词(短语)与句子的主语之间存在逻辑上的主谓关系，即表示主动。
1.现在分词作时间状语
(1)作时间状语（与时间状语从句可转换） Walking alng the river , she came acrss an ld friend.= When she was alng the river, she came acrss an ld friend. 当她在河边散步时，她偶遇她的一个老朋友。
(2) 作原因状语相当于原因状语从句或并列句。 eg.Having prmised Wilbur that she wuld save his life, she was determined t keep her prmise.= Because she have prmised Wilbur that she wuld save his life, she was determined t keep her prmise. 因为她已经向威尔伯承诺要救他，所以， 她一定会遵守诺言。

(3) 作条件状语 相当于条件状语从句。可加连词 if, unless等转换成条件状语从句。 Getting up earlier, yu'll certainly nt be late. =If yu get up earlier, yu'll certainly nt be late. 只要你起得更早一些，你一定不会迟到的。

(5)作方式、伴随状语 相当于and连接的并列句。 The spring breeze is gentle , lightly kissing the willw branches, slightly rippling the water surface. = The spring breeze is gentle, lightly kisses the willw branches, and slightly ripple the water surface. 春风柔和，轻轻亲吻着柳树枝，吹皱了水面。
(6)作结果状语 Charltte tre quite a sectin ut f her web, leaving an pen space in the middle.夏洛特把她的蜘蛛网扯了一部分 ，网中间留出了一块空间。

注意：1.现在分词和nly t d都可以表示结果，但是现在分词作状语表示顺理成章的结果，而nly t d表示出乎意料的结果2.否定式为 nt/never +现在分词
有些现在分词(短语)放在句首，没有逻辑主语而独立存在，修饰全句，表明说话者的态度、观点等，被称为评论性状语或评注性状语。
7.现在分词作评论性状语
常见的有generally speaking一般说来rughly speaking 大致说来，frankly speaking 坦率地说， judging frm/by由判断，
