(2024广东茂名高一下学期检测)Recently, research n hw a new virtual(虚拟的) reality (VR) experience educated primary children abut the fire disasters was dne. It was develped by the University f Suth Australia, aiming t educate children t learn hw t be safer in a fire.

The findings shwed that mre than 80 percent f children reprted that they felt mre cnfident t calmly assess the situatin and make wise decisins t prtect themselves frm a fire. This isl especially imprtant cnsidering that 91 percent f participants riginally lacked any knwledge f fires, and that 67 percent had said that they were t yung t make safety decisins in a fire.
The researchers believed such immersive(沉浸式的) VR experiences had real ptential (潜力) t attract and educate the yung. “As children brn in digital times, they are interested in such technlgy and they can experience events realistically yet within the safe envirnment.” said Delene Weber, ne f the researchers. “Well-designed VR can prvide a chance fr children t apply newly-acquired knwledge, strengthen their learnt cncepts, and enable immediate reactin—all incredibly valuable learning tls.”
Meanwhile, because children have fewer life experiences, aren’t as physically strng, and are less likely t have learned much abut fire safety, they’re ften mst at risk. Yet the ability fr children t cntribute t fire safety at their husehld shuld nt be underestimated (低估).
“Children d nt need t be passively attacked by disasters and with purpse-built virtual reality experiences such as these, we can help children understand the risks and realize they can help,” said Weber.
    28. Hw des the new VR experience try t educate children?
    A. By intrducing a virtual friend t them.B. By finding the causes f a fire event.

    31. What can be the mst suitable title fr the text?
    A. VR experiences educate kids t survive a fireB. VR experiences make learning easier fr kids
    C. VR educatin appeals t the yung generatinD. VR technlgy makes n sense in fighting a fire.
C 29. B 30. D 31. A
根据第二段“Fcusing n children aged 10-12 years ld, the new VR experience presents a situatin where children are tasked t lk after a friend’s dg just befre a fire event begins t spread. They participate in a series f prblem-slving activities t help save and prtect themselves and the dg.(针对10-12岁的儿童,新的虚拟现实体验提出了一种情况,即儿童被要求在火灾开始蔓延之前照顾朋友的狗。
根据第三段第一句“The findings shwed that mre than 80 percent f children reprted that they felt mre cnfident t calmly assess the situatin and make wise decisins t prtect themselves frm a fire.(调查结果显示,超过80%的儿童报告说,他们感到更有信心冷静地评估情况,并作出明智的决定,以保护自己免受火灾。)”
根据第四段中Weber的话“Well-designed VR can prvide a chance fr children t apply newly-acquired knwledge, strengthen their learnt cncepts, and enable immediate reactin—all incredibly valuable learning tls.
根据第一段“Recently, a research n hw a new virtual reality (VR) experience educated primarychildren abut the fire disaster was dne.(近年来,人们开展了一项新的虚拟现实(VR)体验对小学生进行火灾知识教育的研究。)” 故选A。

This inspiring instructin suggests it’s imprtant t discver what truly excites us in life. But is it gd advice?
Science tells us that passins are develped. They can be raised thrugh curisity and repeated practices. Our first interest can be develped int a true passin with psitive experiences. But “finding” a passin means that it already exists and is waiting t be discvered. This misunderstanding can hld peple back. Frtunately, ur latest research shws there are ways t encurage a mre pen utlk abut it.
T study these ideas, we use a framewrk f “fixed” and “grwth” mindsets: fixed mindset sees interests as unchangeable, while a grwth mindset views interests and passins as develped. A grwth mindset f interest cmes with many advantages, while a fixed mindset may discurage explratin. In ne study, after we excited participants’(参与者的) interest in a tpic f black hles with an easy-t-understand vide, peple with a fixed mindset came t dislike the tpic when faced with a technical article. Thse with a grwth mindset kept their new-fund interest despite the difficulty.

But we must find a few mments f stillness thrughut ur day.

    ②建立:set up/establish
    ③照顾:take care f/lk after
    ①高兴的:happy/delighted/cheerful
    ②感激的:thankful/grateful
1】She asked Brian if he culd find Fifi fr her.
2】Nw he knew what he culd d t earn mney.
