Are yu an “I persn” r an “E persn”? These tw persnality labels in particular are widely discussed nline. They are part f a ppular persnality test called the Myers-Briggs Type Indicatr, r MBTI. There are 16 persnalities in all, f which “I” and “E” refer t “intrverted” and “extrverted”, respectively.
Even if smene is typically quiet, many nline discussins suggest that an “I persn” can still act utging at times. Fr example, when an intrverted persn is with a grup f intrverted friends, they might becme mre scial like an “E” persn.
Accrding t psychlgists, this idea f temprarily switching persnalities is called “masking”. That is hiding yur true persnality in specific situatins. “Human beings want t feel they belng, and they might becme peple-pleasers t d s,” wrte the MasterClass website.
Thinking n this, I may actually be the kind f persn that these peple are discussing. Mst times, I just wish t make the atmsphere mre interesting and exciting and shw peple that I’m easy t get alng with. But deep dwn, I mstly enjy being alne and quiet.
Using the MBTI result t identify and describe smene’s persnality seems fun. Hwever, I went t far at ne time. My sister was excitedly making a day-t-day travel plan when I remembered frm an article that a “P persn” desn’t like t make r stick t plans, s I said t her, “Yu dn’t seem like a ‘P persn’”. “Why?” she asked back. “Since when d I need t fllw what my persnality test tells me t d?” It was then that I realized that I’d taken the result t seriusly.
The MBTI persnality test may shw smething yu dn’t knw abut yurself and can even be a fun ice-breaker questin when meeting new friends. And that’s all it is—fr fun. Knwing smene’s MBTI result desn’t mean yu really knw this persn.

When pening certain mbile apps, users ften find disruptive (有干扰性的) pen-app advertisements that impact their experience. Open-app advertisements are advertisements that appear in between cntents r during transitin screens, such as when an app is lading the next page. Sme f these advertisements can redirect users t anther app if the phne is shaken, causing a lt f frustratin fr cnsumers.
These pen-app advertisements functin as gateways and becme mre cmmn during nline shpping festivals, redirecting users t shpping platfrms such as Taba and JD. Mst smartphnes have a gyrscpe sensr (陀螺仪传感器) t detect shaking, leading t unintentinal redirectin. Many users nt nly find it annying t find themselves n an advertisements page, but als have truble disabling the gyrscpe feature since smetimes their phnes lack the chice t d s t avid this issue.
In respnse, authrities have intrduced detailed regulatins n shaking advertisements gateways. A regulatin published in December 2022 utlines specific rules fr the design f “shake-t-pen” advertisements. It says that these advertisements can nly be “clicked thrugh” if the phne’s rtatin angle exceeds 35 degrees, with an actin time lnger than three secnds.
Additinally, in February, the Ministry f Industry and Infrmatin Technlgy emphasized that pp-up r pen-app advertisements shuld nt disrupt users’ experiences. A regulatin intrduced in May states that advertisements must include a clear buttn fr users t clse them.
Gvernment enfrcement f these regulatins presents challenges, as the number f apps and develpers is great. Hwever, this shuld nt be an excuse fr internet platfrms t break the rules, as this behavir causes far mre harm than gd. A survey by the Jiangsu Cnsumer Cuncil shwed that ver 90 percent f users strngly dislike pen-app advertisements, feeling that their rights are being threatened.
While these advertisements might lead t mre clicks, the fact is that the advertisements may harm the credibility f the platfrms that the advertisements lead t and weaken the users’ willingness t use the platfrms. Platfrms can achieve a mutually beneficial (互惠互利) slutin nly if they respect users’ chices and prvide suitable advertisements that users are wiling t accept.

C. They shuld have a clear buttn fr users t clse them.
D. They shuld appear fr nly three secnds n the screen.
30. Hw can platfrms reach a win-win slutin as mentined in the last paragraph?

Pst-traumatic stress disrder (PTSD,创伤后应激障碍) is a mental disrder that develps amng peple wh have experienced r bserved traumatic things such as wars, disasters r ther vilent events. At the heart f PTSD is a memry that can nt be cntrlled. It can affect the everyday lives f its sufferers in frms such as flashbacks, nightmares and anxiety.
A new study dne by researchers frm Yale University and the Icahn Schl f Medicine at Munt Sinai in New Yrk City suggests that patients with PTSD prcess their traumatic memries differently than regular memries.
The researchers did brain scans f 28 PTSD patients. They asked the patients t listen t recrded narratins f their wn memries. Sme f the recrded memries were neutral, sme were simply “sad”, and sme were traumatic.
They fund that when the patients listened t the “sad” memries, the hippcampus (海马体), which is respnsible fr frming memries, was activated. But when they listened t the traumatic memries, a different area, . called the psterir cingulate crtex (PCC,后扣带回皮质), was engaged. The PCC is nt a memry regin. Instead, it regulates internal experiences, such as daydreaming.
The mre severe PTSD symptms are, the mre active the PCC is. “The brain desn’t lk like it is in a state f memry; it lks like it is in a state f present experience,” Daniela Schiller, ne f the authrs f the study, tld The New Yrk Times. That means peple with PTSD feel as thugh they’re experiencing the traumatic event again in the present mment, rather than thinking back n it like a typical memry.
The new finding might hld hpe fr new PTSD therapies (治疗). Future therapies are expected t fcus n helping PTSD patients return their traumatic memries t the hippcampus s that they can treat them as regular and nn-disruptive (非破坏性的) memries. Changing the ways f thinking culd help the brain reduce the feeling f immediate threat caused by trauma, accrding t Ilan Harpaz-Rtem, ne f the paper’s authrs.
32. What des the underlined wrd “flashbacks” in paragraph 1 mean?
A. Rapid mvements f eyes.B. Lud sund in the distance.
C. Repeated upsetting memries.D. Bright lights suddenly appearing.
33. Hw d peple with PTSD recall traumatic events accrding t Daniela Schiller?
A. They treat them as regular memries.
B. They can easily cntrl these memries.
C. They struggle t remember traumatic events clearly.
D. They vividly relive traumatic events as if they are happening at present.
34. What is the authr’s attitude twards the new finding?
A. Psitive.B. Negative.C. Unclear.D. Dubtful.
35. What is the purpse f the passage?
A. T analyze the reasns fr traumatic events.
B. T infrm readers f the symptms f PTSD patients.
C. T advcate patients’ participatin in future therapies.
D. T present a research finding and its ptential applicatin.
