What is an infinitive?
Definitin :动词不定式没有人称和数的变化,在句中不能单独作谓语,但仍然保留动词的特点,即可以有自己的宾语和状语。动词不定式同它的宾语或状语构成不定式短语,在句中起着名词,形容词或副词的作用。

T d 作定语的三种基本情况
1. 被修饰的词与不定式有逻辑上的主动关系;逻辑主语常被first, last, nly及最高级修饰,不定式此时相当于定语从句。
他总是第一个到班,最后一个离开的人。

2. 不定式与被修饰的词有逻辑上的被动关系,即被修饰的词是不定式逻辑上的宾语。

注意:被动关系中若不定式动词不及物,其后面应该加个介词;若名词为time,place,way则可省略介词。这种情况可以转化为“介词+which/whm+t d”结构。
