Fr mst f my life, I didn’t like being seen. I went bright red when it was my turn t speak in a grup. I hated the teacher asking me smething. I even didn’t like my family all lking at me! I ften tried t hide away and avid being seen by thers！S, it’s nt strange that I feared speaking in frnt f thers.

High schl students perfrm better n tests if they are in a classrm with a view f a green space, instead f a windwless rm r a rm with a view f built-up space, accrding t research frm the University f Illinis Department f Landscape Architecture.
“It is the first t shw a relatinship between studying with a green view and students’ perfrmance.” said William Sullivan, head f the research team. “It’s a substantial finding that if yu have a green view utside yur windw, yu’ll d better n tests.” Sullivan hpes the results f their research will lead t sme changes. “Changes in schl design, fr example, wuld be a much better thing than any f the things we spend mney n in secndary educatin tday,” Sullivan said.
The research included 94 students at five central Illinis high schls. Students were randmly assigned t ne f three kinds f classrms—windwless, with a windw lking ut nt built-up space, r with a windw lking ut nt green space. Each kind f classrm had almst the same size and layut(布局). The students tk part in ne-n-ne experiments in which they did 30 minutes f activities that included a prfreading(勘校) exercise, a speech and a math exercise. Fllwing the activities the students were given an attentin test which asked them t repeat a series f numbers.
The findings: Students did better n bth study activities and the attentin test if they were in a classrm with a green view, Sullivan said.
