As a research schlar at the Indian Institute fr Science Educatin and Research, I nce mnitred birds that inhabited grasslands in Daying Ering Memrial Wildlife Sanctuary, a prtected area in Nrtheast India. This habitat frms a part f ne f the mst bi-diverse places n Earth. Yet despite their eclgical imprtance and uniqueness, mst grasslands are classified by the Indian gvernment as“wastelands”.

With the aim f preserving the richness f nature, the gvernment must restre greater rights t lcal cmmunities t manage grasslands. Grasslands are an imprtant feature f an eclgically sund India, ne that must be preserved fr that value abve all thers.
12.What des the authr want t stress in the secnd paragraph?
A.Frests are htspts f bidiversity. B.Deserts badly affect lcal eclgy.
C.Climate change threatens ecsystems. D.Grasslands need equal cnservatin.
