He and his clleagues then wndered if sme aspects f nature were mre beneficial than thers. They turned t birds fr their ubiquity(普遍存在) in rural and urban envirnments.
Their latest study included 1,292 participants mainly in the United Kingdm and Eurpe. Fr tw weeks, participants were prmpted t fill ut a questinnaire abut their surrunding envirnment and their mental state three times a day. Mechelli perfrmed a statistical analysis that fund an bvius imprvement in wellbeing when birds were present, even when eliminating ther factrs like the presence f trees r waterways. The men tal health benefit was true bth fr peple wh disclsed a depressin diagnsis and thse withut any diagnsed mental health cnditins.
Peter James, an envirnmental health scientist at Harvard, wuld like t see mre data. He fund that envirnmental health studies like these lack diversity. Yet, a psychlgist at Trent University in Canada, Lisa Nisbet says, "This kind f study helps us understand hw peple's everyday experience with specific elements f nature, such as birds, can be restrative."
Appreciating birds seems t be a prmising avenue fr nature-based health and wellbeing interventins. At Mechelli's clinical practice in Lndn, he fcuses n early interventin therapies. He suggests his patients g fr walks t bserve the trees and plants grwing in the city, and the bird fluttering by frm branch t branch. "It has n side effects," he says. "It's smething they culd try, and they have nthing t lse."

C. Nature-based interventin functins well in mental health.
D. Peple's daily experience is cnnected with mental prblems.
35. What's the best title f the passage?

Hw t Build a Habit
Building gd habits takes tremendus effrt and insight. 36 Here are sme research-backed steps that can set yu n the path frm where yu are t where yu want t be.
Set a specific gal
The way yu define the gal yu hpe t turn int a habit des matter. Gals such as "meditate regularly" are t abstract, research has shwn. 37 Dn't say "I'll meditate regularly." Say, "I'll mediate fr 15 minutes each day." Having a bite-size bjective makes it easier t get started and easier t see yur prgress.
Create a detailed, cue-based plan
Scientists have prven that yu'll make mre prgress tward yur gal if yu decide nt just what yu'll d, but when yu'll be cued t d it, as well as where yu'll d it and hw yu'll get there. A plan like "I'll study Spanish fr 30 minutes, five days a week" is OK. But a detailed, cue-based plan like "Every wrkday after my last meeting, I'll spend 30 minutes studying Spanish in my ffice" is much mre likely t stick as a habit. 38 Because the when and where in yur plan will serve as cues t actin that j g yur memry.
39
When we set ut t build a new habit, mst f us verestimate ur willpwer and set a curse fr the mst efficient path t achieving ur end gal. But research has shwn yu'll persist lnger and ultimately achieve mre if yu instead fcus n finding ways t make gal pursuit fun.
Fster flexibility
40 But when yu're in the start-up phase f habit building, it's imprtant t insert sme variability deliberately int yur rutine. A flexible habit means yu can still d what yu need t even when a wrench is thrwn in yur first best plans— say, a traffic jam n the way t drpping the kids ff at schl that gets in the way f yur mrning meditatin.
A. Make it fun t repeat.
B. Find the right kind f scial supprt.
C. We frequently repeat ur behavirs, frming habits at ur wn speed.
D. Making this kind f plan reduces the chances yu'll frget t fllw thrugh.
E. By the time we put a behavir n autpilt, a lt f us fall int fairly cnsistent rutines.
F. Yu'll benefit frm being mre specific abut what exactly yu ai m t d and hw ften.
G. Thankfully, science ffers bth guidance n hw t begin and strategies t lighten yur lift.

One pssible versin:
But at Mile 19, Jeff began t panic, cnvinced they were ging t slw. Smehw he fund the energy t pick up the pace, puffing and panting. Sptting sweat trickling dwn frm his father's wrinkled frehead, Jhnny ffered t run n his wn with his rlling walker. Jeff stpped t help Jhnny ut f his racing chair, handing the rlling walker t his sn. After years f painstaking wrk, Jhnny increased his step cunts and was determined t finish his races by himself. Jhnny saw the clck ticking dwn and wrried they wuldn't make the cutff. "Nt because I wuldn't get my mment," he said, "but because Dad had wrked s hard."
After 16 hurs, 55 minutes and 35 secnds, father and sn crssed the finish line tgether. As the crwd engulfed and cheered n an verwhelmed Jhnny, a weary Jeff kept a lw prfile. "My father didn't want his finish line mment," said Jhnny, tears in eyes. "He wanted it t be mine. What he taught me is that it's much easier t take n life ne step at a time than it is t think abut the huge task ahead f yu. Small steps lead t bigger steps." T Jhnny, the final mile represents what his whle life with cerebral palsy has been abut hard wrk, dedicatin, ptimism, and determinatin.
