本单元的写作要求写一篇具有工匠精神的人物介绍类说明文。文章除了要符合一般说明文的特点和要求外，还要符合人物介绍的要求。此类写作通常首先点明人物的工匠精神，然后通过具体事例来说明该人物的工匠精神以及他/她做出的贡献，最后作出简单的结论。
1．注意写作顺序，如时间顺序、空间顺序或逻辑顺序等。同时要注意文章的层次感和条理性，通过文章内容，能反映人物的性格特征、贡献及事迹等。
2．注意说明方法。可采取“先举例，后总结”或者“先总结，后举例”的结构模式。知识性和信息性是人物介绍类说明文的主要关注点，必要时也可发表个人主张，抒发个人情感。
3．说明文通常用第三人称，时态以一般现在时或一般过去时为主。
4．用词力求准确。说明文要求遣词用句准确、周密，不使用华丽浮夸的辞藻和含义模糊的词句。只有语言简练、用词准确，才能将人物更具体化、形象化，使该人物更易于被读者接受。

Xu Yuanchng，China's mst renwned master translatr，passed away in Beijing at the age f 100．A winner f the highest hnr in the field f translatin，Xu was best knwn fr his translatins f ancient Chinese pems int English and French that have gained wrldwide recgnitin．
Xu devted himself t translatin fr mre than 60 years．Fr him，translated literature is “a beautiful art fr the whle wrld”．His academic career began during his cllege years when he studied at the Natinal Suthwest Assciated University (Lianda) in Kunming．In 1939，he published an English translatin f a pem written by Chinese female pet and architect Lin Huiyin titled “Dn't Cast Away”，which is nw knwn as his earliest wrk．Xu spent a few years in France studying French literature in the late 1940s．He then returned t China after graduatin and became the first Chinese t translate Chinese petry int English and French in rhyme．
