When I entered educatin, I knew I wanted t be mre than a cach n the field and curt—I wanted t help students like me make meaningful cnnectins t schl thrugh sprts.
I designed a prgram arund the cncepts f cmfrt and stretch znes. On day ne, I set up a range f equipment fr different sprts acrss a field. In grups, students discussed sprts that they felt cmfrtable and safe playing. They then tk turns selecting their cmfrt sprt n the field, ding a brief share, and playing with their grup. Afterward, we had a class discussin n the imprtance f ding things that bring jy and passin, and hw sharing that passin with thers mtivates us and the peple arund us.
On day tw, with the same field design and sprting equipment, I intrduced the idea f stretch znes. Students frmed the same grups as n day ne and discussed which sprts were ut f their cmfrt zne and mre challenging t them. Sme f my students were shy and thers slightly frustrated(沮丧)as they struggled t perfrm the skills in sprts in which they were nt cmfrtable. Then we discussed, as a class, hw even when smething is challenging, if we recgnize the difficulty and intentinally practice, we give urselves the pprtunity t vercme it ver time.
The prgram required mre than just adjusting my curriculum(课程)—it als meant sme changes t the way I taught. I fund myself pening up t my students and sharing my wn hardships and successes with them. As a result, my students felt freer t be their real selves.

I bserved ne child hugging her belved ty dg while reading a bk t her friend — bth she and her dg were actively turning the pages — and with every page turned, she lked dwn at her dg, lvingly. As a lngtime educatr f tddlers and a current PhD student studying transitinal phenmena and bject relatins, I have had the pleasure t witness the presence f transitinal bjects in the kindergarten.
The term transitinal bject, cined in 195l by D.W. Winnictt, refers t any material t which a child attaches a special value and by means f which the child is able t make the necessary shift frm the earliest ral relatinship with mther t genuine bject-relatinships. It is typically smething sft, such as a blanket r a sft ty, that is similar t the mther’s warm arms.
It may als be the subject f the child’s fantasies, fr example where a teddy bear is spken t, hugged, punished, etc. It thus becmes a tl fr practicing interactin with the external wrld. Mrever, the transitinal bject supprts the develpment f the self, as it is used t represent ‘nt me’. By lking at the bject, the child knws that it is nt the bject and hence smething individual and separate. in this way, it helps the child develp its sense f ‘ther’ things.
If the bject is denied in any way, attachment difficulties may arise later in life. The bject allws fr and invites emtinal well-being, and withut such an bject, true feelings may be hidden r dismissed as the child has n ther means t cpe with and cmprehend the wrld. Wrse still, the bject is intimately bund up with the identity f the child. Taking away the bject is als taking away smething f the child itself.
Winnictt nted that transitinal bjects cntinue thrugh the curse f ur lives, as “sacred mnuments” which pull us back t “a place and time f great cmfrt and memry”. The attachment t certain bjects like self phtgraphs defines bth memrials, and mre imprtantly a state f cnnectin and presence in the wrld.
28.Hw des the writer intrduce the tpic?
A.By sharing feelings.B.By illustrating a term.
C.By relating an experience.D.By prviding backgrund infrmatin.
29.What des the term “transitinal bjects” refer t accrding t the passage?
A.Tls used by educatrs t aid teaching.
B.Items t which a child becmes deeply attached.
C.Tys designed t amuse kids in the kindergarten.
D.Expensive persnal pssessins gifted by parents.
30.What might happen if a child’s transitinal bject is denied?
A.H might lse his imaginatin.
B.He may becme mre independent.
C.He is less likely t share persnal feelings.
D.He prbably distances himself frm his mther.
31.What is the main purpse f the text?
A.T intrduce hw t develp a sense f ‘ther’ things.
B.T d research n the psychlgical develpment f kids.
C.T shw hw t enhance the bnd between mther and child.
D.T stress the imprtance f transitinal bjects t children.

Mnet gets his place in the art timeline because f his leading rle in the impressinist art mvement, and thrugh the lasting appeal f his artistic style. The painting he titled Impressin: Sunrise, dne early in his career, may nt seem ne f Mnet’s best paintings, but the big deal abut it is that it was the painting that gave impressinism its name.
Dne with il paint n canvas, this painting is characterized by thin washes f rather mild clrs, n tp f which he painted shrt strkes f pure clr. Mnet gave depth and perspective t an therwise flat painting by the use f aerial perspective (空间透视法). Lk clsely at the three bats, and yu can see hw these get lighter in the tne, which is the way aerial perspective wrks. The lighter bats appear t be further away frm us than the darkest ne.
Mnet exhibited the painting in what we nw call the First Impressinist Exhibitin, in Paris. Mnet and a grup f abut 30 ther artists, frustrated by restrictins and plitics f the fficial annual art saln, had decided t hld their wn independent exhibitin, an unusual thing t d at the time. They called themselves the Annymus Sciety f Painters, Sculptrs, Engravers, etc., which included artists wh are nw wrld famus such as Renir, Degas, Pissarr, Mrist, and Cezanne. Mnet said he’d called the painting “impressin” because “it really culdn’t pass as a view f Le Harve”.
Luis Lery, an art critic, in his review f the exhibitin used the title f Mnet’s painting as the headline, calling it the “Exhibitin f Impressinists”. Lery had meant it irnically as the term “impressin” was used t describe a rapidly finished painting f an atmspheric effect, and artists rarely, if ever, exhibited pictures s quickly sketched. The label stuck. In his review published n 25 April, 1874, Lery wrte,“Wallpaper in its embrynic (萌芽期的) state is mre finished than that seascape.” Then in a supprtive review published a few days later, Jules Castagnary was the first art critic t use the term “Impressinism” in a psitive way.

C.The different tnes f the three bats gave depth t the painting.
D.It was exhibited in the fficial annual art saln with 30 ther artists.
33.What des the underlined sentence in paragraph 4 mean?
A.The label met strng ppsitin frm ther art critics.
B.The label was stuck t the surface f Mnet’s painting.
C.The label was nt regarded as a psitive image.
D.The label stayed and became widely used after that.
34.Wh is the first t use the term “Impressinists”?
A.Mnet.B.Lery.C.Renir.D.Castagnary.
35.What des the passage mainly talk abut?
A.Impressin: Sunrise gave Impressinism its name.
B.Critics had a disagreement ver Mnet’s painting.
C.Mnet is a leading artist f Impressinism.
D.Impressinism is an appealing artistic style.
