The results shw that “surprisingly, many ppulatins with very lw incmes reprt very high average levels f life satisfactin, with scres similar t thse in wealthy cuntries,” says Eric Galbraith, researcher at ICTA-UAB and McGill University and lead authr f the study.
The average life satisfactin scre acrss the studied simple-and-tiny scieties was 6.8 n a range f 0-10.Althugh nt all scieties reprted high satisfactin levels, fur f the sites reprted average scres higher than 8, despite many f these scieties having suffered histries f neglect and cntrl. The results are cnsistent with the pinin that human scieties can supprt very satisfactry lives fr their members withut necessarily requiring high degrees f material wealth.
