Each line is equipped with a system that ntifies lcal respnse teams, wh aim t reach any hked shark within 30 minutes. The lines are set daily and cllected later t prevent them frm being left vernight.
The respnse teams recrd the shark’s size and health, tag (加标签) it, and then mve great white, tiger, and bull sharks anther 500 metres ffshre and release them. Other species, such as hammerhead and grey nurse sharks, are released where caught. Researchers mnitred 36 great white sharks equipped with satellite-linked radi transmitting tags after being caught in 2016. Within three days f their release, all the sharks mved away frm the beaches where they were caught and stayed mstly ffshre.

In Australia, researchers at the New Suth Wales Department f Primary Industries have been using Shark Management Alert (警告) in Real Time (SMART) drumlines t study this behaviur.
These drumlines cnsist f baited hks (诱饵钩) n buys (浮标) lcated 500 metres ff the cast f ppular areas. Each line is equipped with a system that ntifies lcal respnse teams, wh aim t reach any hked shark within 30 minutes. The lines are set daily and cllected later t prevent them frm being left vernight.
The respnse teams recrd the shark’s size and health, tag (加标签) it, and then mve great white, tiger, and bull sharks anther 500 metres ffshre and release them. Other species, such as hammerhead and grey nurse sharks, are released where caught. Researchers mnitred 36 great white sharks equipped with satellite-linked radi transmitting tags after being caught in 2016. Within three days f their release, all the sharks mved away frm the beaches where they were caught and stayed mstly ffshre.
Althugh the sharks gradually mved clser t the shre 10 days after release, 77% f them remained mre than 1.9 kilmetres away frm the cast and an average f 5 kilmetres away frm where they were tagged. The tracking equipment cntinued t detect the sharks fr an average f nearly 600 days after their release, indicating that the prgramme des nt increase the risk f their death.

T see if peple can benefit frm using such a device at hme, Fu and her clleagues tested a tDCS headset made by Swedish firm Flw Neurscience. The team randmly assigned 174 peple with mderate r severe depressin t receive either a full sessin f stimulatin frm the Flw headset r stimulatin frm the same device that lasted just a few secnds, s peple felt their skin tingling (刺痛), at the start and end f each sessin.
