Even nw, I have vivid memries f my last day f high schl. In my mind’s eye, I’m cleaning ut my lcker, and then staring at the emptiness fr a few extra beats befre slamming it shut fr the last time. I’m raming the halls with my best friend, blissfully ignring the bells ging ff every 50 minutes n schedule because, just tday, we’re allwed t break the rules. I’m sitting n my desk, swinging my feet, and shting the breeze (闲聊) with my English teacher, Mr. Carr, in a way that makes me feel almst grwn up.
It was maybe my favrite day f the whle year. Like the final layer f waterclr, the freedm and lightness I feel seeps (渗透) int the rest f my memries f that day and turns them just a shade rsier.
If the schl year hasn’t yet ended fr yu, cnsider what yu can d t make the finale cunt. Why? Because when it cmes t human memry, nt all mments are created equal. Instead, ur remembered experiences are disprprtinately (不成比例地) influenced by peaks(the best mments as well as the wrst)and endings (the last mments). Nbel Prize winner Danny Kahneman, wh discvered this phenmenn, called this the peak-end rule. It suggests that ur judgment f a past experience is largely based n its mst extreme pint and its endpint.
I tk advantage f the peak-end rule years ag, when my girls were yung enugh t want a bedtime stry each night. I remember thinking that whatever strife (冲突) and stress had ccurred that day, I culd make the last mments cunt. I culd end n a nte f calm and act like the patient mm I hadn’t quite managed t be just hurs befre.
Dn’t mistake all mments as equal in significance. There’s a reasn why yga classes end with savasana (挺卧式). There’s a reasn we eat dessert last. D rchestrate (精心安排) endings. As Seattle Seahawks cach Pete Carrll might say: Finish strng. Last impressins are especially lasting.
24.What des the underlined wrd in paragraph 1 mean?
    A.Calmly.B.Surprisingly.
    C.Happily.D.Curiusly.
25.Which statement is true abut the peak-end rule?
A.Peaks in life can be remembered better than endings.
B.The last mments matter the mst in ur memries.
C.Our judgment f the past is determined by first impressins.
D.The peaks and ends f experiences are easier t remember.
26.What is paragraph 4 mainly abut?
A.Hw the authr applied the rule t daily life.
B.Hw the authr treated her daughters.
C.What struggles the authr had in life.
D.Why the authr read stries t her kids.
27.Why is Pete Carrll mentined in the last paragraph?
A.T prve the peak-end rule can be used in sprts.
B.T encurage readers t value the last mments f an experience.

D.T shw the imprtance f ding sprts.

I recently fund myself agnizing ver a financial decisin. S when I saw a financially savvy acquaintance at a party, I decided t ask fr her advice. As the cnversatin deepened, hwever, I felt my stmach tighten in frustratin. While I’m sure my friend wanted t help, her advice was immediately ff the mark. T help head ff bad advice, get clear n yur needs. Are yu asking smene t help think thrugh ptins yu might take t reslve a prblem? Cmmunicating bth yur prblem and yur expectatins will help yur advice-giver apprach yur questins thughtfully and with a gal f their wn in mind.
David Eddie was an advice clumnist fr nearly tw decades. At that time, he learned that gd advice-givers ask questins that help them better understand where yu’re cming frm and what yur gals are. They dn’t assume they knw the answer—r that yu have the time, resurces r ability t apprach the challenge in the same way they wuld. “Yu want smene wh’s ging t drill dwn int the prblem with yu and take the time t understand the shape f it,” he says.
Persnally mtivated advice is usually pretty easy t spt. A friend may advise their secret crush t leave their current partner. That’s why Eddie ften gathers a range f perspectives. He calls his grup f advice-givers The Panel, and it’s made up f his wife, mm and sme friends and clleagues. Their advice helps him see different sides f sticky issues—pushing him t cnsider different angles and utcmes. But in the end, he’s the ne wh makes the decisin. He says, “I believe in the saying, ‘Seek the advice f many, but fllw yur wn cunsel.’” After all, everyne is an expert n their wn life.
28.What shuld ne d t avid terrible advice?
A.Ask the advice-giver t help think thrugh ptins.

D.Chse ne f yur friend as the advice-giver.

B.Gd advice-givers slve the prblem persnally fr clients.
    C.Gd advice-givers tend t listen t clients.

30.What is the suggestin given in Paragraph 4?
    A.Trying suggestins frm a range f perspectives.
    B.Chsing a persnally mtivated suggestin.
C.Making yur wn decisin after hearing extensive suggestins.
D.Trying t be an expert n yur wn life.
31.What can be a suitable title fr the text?
A.Learning t Give AdviceB.Asking Advice Frm Yur Panel
    C.Being a Friendly Advice-giverD.Aviding Bad Advice

If yu’re eating prtein (蛋白质), yu culd be swallwing hundreds f tiny pieces f plastic each year, research finds.
A new study by researchers with the nnprfit Ocean Cnservancy and the University f Trnt fund micrplastics — tiny particles ranging frm ne micrmeter t a half-centimeter in size — in nearly 90 percent f prtein fd samples tested.

They estimated that an American adult culd cnsume, n average, at least 11,000 micrplastic pieces per year.
The study’s findings prvide further evidence f the availability f small plastic particles — which have been discvered everywhere frm Antarctic snw t inside human bdies — and hw they can end up in the fd we eat and the water we drink.
“While we still really dn’t have any idea what the human health cnsequences f this are, if there are any at all, we need t take this seriusly because this is a prblem that’s nt ging away n its wn, and it’s nly ging t get wrse the mre plastic we use and thrwaway,” Lenard said. But Lenard and ther experts cautined against using the findings t draw final cnclusins abut hw micrplastics can dirty fd and the amunt f plastic that culd be hiding in prteins.
The study’s sample size was nt big enugh and the researchers nted that there was high variability in micrplastic cncentratins in the samples. The researchers als nly cunted micrplastic particles that were larger than r equal in size t 45 micrmeters. “It just highlights that we need t d mre research,” said Bianca Datta, a fd scientist nt invlved in the new research.
32.What is paragraph 3 mainly abut?

Ten years ag, when psychlgist Jan Smith reviewed the literature n child-animal relatinships, she reprted that interacting with animals led yung children t better understand bilgy than pet-less children. Kindergartners wh had cared fr gldfish were mre 42 when respnding t questins like “des a gldfish have a heart?” They als mre easily 43 bilgical infrmatin frm ne species t anther, inferring that baby frgs get bigger just like gldfish d. She als reprts that thse kids wh turned t their pets fr emtinal supprt were less 44 than these wh didn’t.
The past ten years have seen sme advances, but literature n the tpic is still rather 45 . A recent paper by researcher Meg Brwn at Lakeside University 46 sme imprtant infrmatin t the discussin.
She turned t a data-set that includes infrmatin frm 7, 000 kids, ranging in 47 frm thirteen t nineteen years. Fr the study, bth pet wning and ther types f 48 activities, like hrseback riding, were cnsidered as human-animal interactin experience.
She fund that adlescents with animal experience were mre likely t see themselves as imprtant 49 t their cmmunities, such as ding cmmunity service. She als fund that the higher the level f 50 between a teenager and animals, the higher they scred n measurements f emtinal cnnectedness in general. While causality (因果关系) cannt be determined, Brwn says that it is at least 51 that children and adlescents can learn abut healthy scial relatinships frm their experiences f interacting with animals. “If a cnnectin exists between the skills required fr these relatinships, then it might be useful t make use f animal relatinships as a way t 52 the develpment f scial skills,” she says.
Brwn is aware f the limitatins f her study. It can’t reach any cnclusins abut the causal rle f animals in kids’ lives, and it’s limited t 53 natinwide. Besides, the study was nt designed t 54 any ptential negative effects f human-animal interactin experiences. Sme ther studies, fr example, have shwn that pet wners have higher levels f 55 , like depressin, than nn-pet wners.
