It was a warm evening in August in 1995. Rbert Blcker was driving t Yale University after being appinted as the university’s Dean (院长) f Music. He didn’t expect t see many peple, but a cuple f students met him and shwed him arund.
“When I lked at the histry f the university and hw peple are devted t the schl’s art prgrams, I was hnred by the chance t wrk there. I culd nt wait fr the next day t start my jb. Nvelizatins were usually written by authrs wh were nt in the mvie-making prcess. Instead, they wuld receive the mst cmplete versin f the screenplay t hand and wuld begin t write their adaptatin based n that dcument. Althugh changes culd be made, there were times where a nvelizatin didn’t actually reflect what happened n the screen because scenes culd be cut r replaced and the nvelizatins were left utdated. I’m Li Hua frm Class 3. When it cmes t schl clubs, my recmmendatin is the Chinese Traditinal Culture Club.

Things wuld g n like that if nt fr a sprts meet in my high schl. By mistake, my name was put n the list f thse wh wuld cmpete in the wmen’s 1500 meters race. By the time peple fund the mistake, it was t late t change.
My deskmate, Mary, was a natural athlete. She said t me, “I culdn’t run that race in yur place, because I have signed up fr three items already.” I nearly brke dwn. 1500 meters! Running against the best runners in frnt f the whle schl! It wuld be the wrst nightmare I’d ever have!
