    在这里,beautiful是一个形容词,形容词来修饰名词、代词,做定语。当定语是一个句子时,我们称它为定语句,定语从句的作用类似于形容词的作用,用来修饰名词、代词,但是名词位置在前面,定语从句在后面,此时名词称为先行词。
    定语从句:在复合句中,修饰某一名词或代词的从句,其 作用相当于形容词。先行词:被定语从句所修饰的名词或代词。关系词:引导定语从句的词。

    限制性定于从句?非限制定于从句?
    1. Tu Yuyu is a cmmitted scientist wh was awarded by this year's Nbel Prize fr Physilgy r Medicine.2. Tu Yuyu went t Hainan, where malaria was mre cmmn, t study malaria patients.
    Cmpare restrictive attributive clauseswith nn-restrictive attributive clauses
    从句与先行词关系紧密,对先行词的意义起限定作用,不可或缺
    从句对先行词或整个主句起补充说明、解释、评论等作用
    只能修饰先行词,不修饰整个主句
    既可修饰先行词,又可修饰整个主句
    可用关系代词和关系副词,但通常不能用that引导从句
    从句前一般不用逗号隔开
    从句和先行词或主句之间一般用逗号隔开
    是先行词的附加说明,去掉了也不会影响主句的意思,它与主句之间通常用逗号分开,将非限制性定语从句放在句子中间,其前后都需要用逗号隔开。
    引导非限制性定语从句的关系词

    【where fr places】 E.g: We went t the park, where we had a picnic.

    介词后关系代词的选择:指人用whm, 指物用which.
    介词的选择:一看与先行词的固定搭配; 二看与谓语动词的搭配; 三看与其他词语的搭配。
    (三) 介词+关系代词(whm/which)

    1. 限制性定语从句可以用that来引导。E.g: The dg that chased the cat belngs t my neighbur.非限制性定语从句不能用that来引导。2. 限制性定语从句可以用why来引导。 E.g: The reasn why she was late is that her car brke dwn.非限制性定语从句不能用why来引导。3. 限制性定语从句中当wh/whm/that在定语从句中作宾语时可以省略。 E.g: The man (wh/whm/that) we have just seen is a famus writer.在非限制性定语从句中,关系词无论何时都不可以被省略。
