The rigin f this festival centers arund a gvernment fficial named Qu Yuan .He was a gd and respected man. Unable t regain the respect f the emperr, in his srrw Qu Yuan threw himself int the Mi Lw river. Because f their admiratin fr Qu Yuan, the lcal peple living adjacent t the Mi L River rushed int their bats t search fr him while thrwing rice int the waters t appease the river dragns.Althugh they were unable t find Qu Yuan, their effrts are still cmmemrated tday during the Dragn Bat Festival.
