At the 13th Eurpean Sauna Marathn,teams dragged thrugh ice and snw t clck three minutes in 18 different saunas ver ne afternn. At this year’s cmpetitin, in early February, I jined a team t cmplete the circuit, sweating thrugh the steam and jumping int ice hles at tp speed.
One f the cmpetitin categries is t vte n the best sauna experience. Participants vte by heat, music, snacks and nvelty. This year’s winner was a sauna in the sky, equipped with a wd- burning stve lifted 50 feet in the air by an industrial crane while each team sweated inside. When the sauna hit the grund, a charming cwby handed ut ice-cld sweet drinks as a gdbye.
Mst f the saunas are run by lcal enthusiasts, friendly families and businesses giving ut pre- sauna beers and grilled meats. One was a hbbit huse with a snwy rf slide that ended in an ice hle. Anther served as part f the relief effrt after this sauna cmpetitin.
This year registratin sld ut within tw hurs. The entries are capped at 200 teams. But rganizers say they hld 40 places fr teams frm abrad t experience Estnian sauna culture. The Federal Trade Cmmissin(FTC) recently annunced that it was prpsing new measures t crack dwn(打击) n fake reviews and ther practices used t mislead cnsumers. The cmmissin published a prpsed rule that wuld prhibit cmpanies frm writing r selling fake reviews, buying psitive reviews, suppressing negative reviews and mre.

Research shws peple verwhelmingly cnsult nline reviews, but humans are als bad at telling which cnsumer reviews hld water and which are nnsense.
