    My guide is Zhaxi, a villager frm Changtang. He wrks at the Changtang Natinal Nature Reserve. The reserve is a shelter(庇护所)fr the animals and plants f nrth-western Tibet.     The 1980s and 1990s were bad times fr the Tibetan antelpes. The ppulatin drpped by mre than 50 percent. Hunters were shting antelpes t make mney. Their living places were becming smaller as new rads and railways were built.
    In rder t save these beautiful animals frm dying ut, the Chinese gvernment placed them under natinal prtectin. Zhaxi and ther vlunteers watched ver the antelpes day and night t keep them safe frm attacks. Bridges and gates were added t let the antelpes mve easily and keep them safe frm cars and trains.
