The letters were Tlkien's way f keeping Father Christmas alive fr his fur children, ver a perid f mre than twenty years.
Every Christmas, an envelpe with a Nrth Ple stamp arrived. It was addressed t Tlkien's children. Wh culd it be frm? The children must have been very excited as they pened it. Inside, they wuld find a handwritten letter frm Father Christmas. The letters were als beautifully illustrated – each must have taken its true authr, Tlkien, a lng time t cmplete.
