When I wrked as a nurse, I was n day duty and while my friends were n night duty. On ne shift, I remember I sensed smething just befre ging ff duty at 11am. I had brught the ward sister her mrning tea, s I put dwn the tea tray. The tray rattled and fell thrugh the windw. I knew the ward sister was with anther patient, s I went back inside the building. When I reached the ward sister, I fund her patient culdn’t walk. We made a seat fr her by linking ur hands and arms, and carried her utside tgether. We went back thrugh the building t check n ne was left behind. Almst all f the patients had been able t get themselves ut f ur ward, as far as I knew.
Once ur ward was cleared, a dctr called fr vlunteers t g dwn t the islatin ward with him t help mre peple. Anther nurse and I went dwn there. The first thing we saw was a bath in the hallway, We came t the ruined ward. The dctr went in ahead f us thrugh the remains f what had been a drway. He fund ne f the nurses partially cvered with rubble (碎石). She was still alive s we began t clear the rubble away. Suddenly the aftershck struck. The dctr rdered us t leave. This brave man intended t stay with the trapped nurse and risk his wn life.
