Clning is the prcess f making an exact cpy f a plant r animal and develping it either naturally r artificially. Natural clning has been ging n fr generatins. Fr example， gardeners have been using a frm f clning when they take a cutting frm a plant and place it in a suitable medium， such as sil. Anther example f natural clning is identical twins，wh are prduced frm the same egg.
Fr years，there had been attempts t clne animals artificially. The first successfully clned animal was a sheep named Dlly in 1996. At first，Dlly grew nrmally，but later she develped an illness that is mre nrmally fund in much lder animals. She lived fr six and a half years，nly half the life f the sheep frm which she was clned. After Dlly，scientists have clned mre than 20 mammal species，including camels，cattle，deer，dgs，gats and mice. Hwever，they have fund a similar pattern f health prblems with these ther species as well.
This has led t questins such as， “Will this be a majr issue fr all clned animals? ”“ Will it cntinue t happen frever? ”
In January 2018，the clning f tw lng-tailed mnkeys，Zhng Zhng and Hua Hua，was annunced by Chinese scientists. They were the first-ever primates (the rder f mammals which include apes，mnkeys，and humans) t have been clned! in cmparisn with ther species，clning primates has prved t be“much harder”，and ding s with nn-reprductive cells was even mre cmplicated.
