I suffered frm mental illness and depressin when I was yunger, which ttally affected my teenage years. But after a lng struggle, I fund a hbby that changed my life.
My depressin really kicked in after my parents mved t the UK when I was abut 11 years ld. Having t get used t life in a freign cuntry was very difficult. The friends I knew were gne, and the changes in my envirnment led t my depressin. I had prblems in many parts f my life, which made it feel impssible fr me t carry n.
At that time, I didn't understand that depressin was an illness. I remember a particular day when I culdn't find enugh strength t get myself hme frm playing in the park—it felt like I was carrying the wrld n my shulders.
Other times, I even thught abut killing myself —I just felt s trapped. I never really reached ut fr help either, as I felt that there wasn't anyne wh culd help me with my situatin.
What turned my life arund, hwever, was discvering street dancing. I was intrduced t it by a friend, and I started taking classes at a studi in Lndn. After a few weeks, I began t g ut and meet a lt f ther dancers t practice and train with them n a regular basis. It gave me a purpse, and eventually the happiness I gained frm it helped me manage my depressin. The dancing helped me get my life back, fcus n my studies, and get thrugh university.
My advice t anyne wh might be ging thrugh smething like I was is t reach ut fr help. The thing abut life is that it changes, and yu never knw what might cme yur way. If smene had said t me during thse dark mments that I wuld have gne n t achieve the things I have, I wuldn't have ever believed it.
Just take each day as it cmes, and remember that there's always smene, r smething, ut there t help yu.
