On August 21, 1911, a plumber（水管工）in the Luvre Museum in Paris nticed a man standing in frnt f a dr, unable t pen it because f the missing drknb（门把）. The largest ppulatin—numbering 423—is in central Mnglia's Hustai Natinal Park. These hrses are descendants（后代）f 84 animals that were airlifted frm Eurpean zs in the 1990s.
"Befre the reintrductin, n ne believed we culd save this species," recalls Dashpurev. Nw, the Internatinal Unin fr Cnservatin f Nature（IUCN）has dwngraded Przewalski's hrse frm "critically endangered" t "endangered", marking a significant milestne in their recvery.
Hwever, despite this success stry, Mnglia faces numerus challenges in prtecting its ther species. Besides hunting, the climate emergency is putting mre pressure. Temperatures are rising three times faster than the glbal average, bringing mre extreme weather events that wipe ut large numbers f animals.
Faced with this crisis, the gvernment has taken actins t prtect wild areas. In 1998, Mnglia prmised t prtect 30% f its territry by 2030—a gal adpted by 100 ther cuntries in 2021. S far it is n 21%.
