Last Sunday, the famus Champs-Elysees street in Paris was turned int a big venue fr a special spelling event, which lasted 6 hurs. The event set a new wrld recrd fr the largest spelling cntest ever, up t 5,000 peple taking part at the same time. The event had three runds. While the texts were read, the participants tried t write dwn what they heard. A big screen was set up in the street. After the texts were read, they were shwn n the screen fr participants t check their wrk. Nt a single participant managed t write an entire text with zer errrs. A retired ld lady made tw mistakes.
