1.Leaping n the narrw balance beam is nt easy. But Lla Walter,a 13-year-ld gymnast, is an expert at it.T perfect her skills,Lala_______fr fur hurs a day , five days a week.At the date champinships in March, she finished seventh ut f 16 girls.
    runs B.danced C.trained D.exercised
由But Lla Walter, a 13-year-ld gymnast,is an expert at it可知她是一名体操运动员,所以空格处应填trained训练,其他几项不符合语境。
1.It runs in the ___1____. Michael’s father always helped the pr as he believed it made everyne happier.Machile Greenberg feels the same. A pair f glves may be a small thing, but it make a big difference in winter.
    city B.family C. neighburhd D. cmpany
    表示改变话题的标志语有: by the way
    表示转折关系的有:but,hwever,while, n the ther hand, althugh等。
Fr thse peple, he is“Glves”Greenberg. Hw did he get that name?He lks like any ther businessman, wearing a suit carrying a briefcase .But he’s_______.His briefcase always has sme glves.
    calm B. different C. crazy D. similar
由He lks like any ther businessman, wearing a suit carrying a briefcase(他看起来和任何其他商人一样,穿着西装,拿着公文包)But he’s_______,可知前后是对比关系,所以But后应该是“不同”,所以选B.
1.He had the rare balance f fun and cmpassin. He wuld__1_the ludest ver fun and be the saddest anyne’s___2__.
    A. speak B.using C.questin D.laugh
    A.misfrtune B. disbelief C.dishnesty D.mistake
I said that I didn't knw hw t get back int twn. In silence he started driving.
I ran back t my car and drve behind him. Finally I recgnized a familiar street. As I turned t head hme, the car disappeared. Then I___my driveway when the warning light fr my gas tank turned n.
    A.pulled intB.drve awayC. ran acrss D.funt ut
    解析:影响这个题目正确作答的关键是对空后面的driveway的含义的理解driveay指的是the hard area r rad between y:ur huse and the street,(美)(从建筑物、车库等通至道路的)私用车道车道((英)drive)。
In a significant tightening f legal cntrls ver the press, Lrd Irvine, the Lrd Chancellr, will intrduce a ___ bill that will prpse making payment t witnesses illegal. (2001)
    A. sketch B. rughC. preliminary D. draft
