With the hliday seasn cming up, there has been a lt f advertising. This really gt me thinking abut ur sciety. Stres such as Walmart and Superstre immediately put their Christmas decratins up the day after Hallween! What des this say abut ur cmmunity?
The hliday seasn is suppsed t be abut whm yu spend it with, a time t remember friends and family. It is a time t be grateful fr what yu have and t help ut thse less frtunate, t admire the Christmas tree in decratins and strings f lights, t spend time with friends wh have been far away. These are the memries that will stay with us. Hlidays shuld have nthing t d with advertising and sales. Hwever, hlidays have been s cmmercialized since the inventin f the televisin that peple are starting t assciate them with sales.
There is nthing wrng with the desire t d smething nice fr yur family and yur friends, which is a reflectin f the feelings fr that particular persn n any given day f the year. Hwever, the media is making it seem like withut an expensive gift, the hliday isn't as memrable. An expensive gift is nt the nly way t demnstrate affectin, despite the claims f many advertisements. The media is placing a price n the hlidays when really it shuld be abut family and friends. The cmmercializatin f the hliday seasn is verwhelming, t say the least. Fr example, Christmas used t be all abut giving withut any hidden mtives. Nw as a result f all the advertising, mst peple think that the jy f the hliday cmes ut f the gifts. The media is giving peple unrealistic expectatins f hlidays. It tries t tell the public that withut buying the mst expensive gifts, mst expensive Christmas trees, fd r clthes yur hliday seasn will nt be memrable. They make gift buying seem like an bligatin and it makes hlidays becme all abut the presents and nt family. This misrepresentatin gives peple the false impressins that withut the presents life is meaningless.
Withut the true values f the hliday the true spirit and meaning will vanish. Advertising is simply just taking ver ur lives. S this hliday seasn, instead f lking frward t all the presents yu receive, g celebrate the true meaning f the hlidays.
24.What shuld peple d during a hliday accrding t the passage?
    A. G t visit a friend wh lives far away.

The new radi prgramme frm Self-help expert Glennn Dyle unexpectedly disturbed me. In a sessin f We Can D Hard Things, she fcuses n bundaries and their imprtance t ur mental happiness. I heartily agree with her, because saying a plite but firm “n” is ne f the basics fr a happy life. I was, hwever, particularly interested when she raised the idea that perhaps, as well as learning when t cnfirm ur bundaries, we als need t stretch them. There was the wrk bundary saying that unless a prject fell exactly int my tpics, I wuldn’t take it — which meant I turned dwn wrk that was therwise interesting and rewarding.
There was the bundary saying that I wasn’t t buy anything until I’d reached my savings gal — which resulted in me having t restart my laptp 20 times a day.
And then there was a bundary arund relatinships setting ut exactly hw I shuld be treated and what I wanted in thers. Helpful t sme extent, it blcked me frm allwing smene t express their lve fr me, even if it wasn’t quite what I had predicted.
Had I been ding bundaries wrng all the time? Did I need t figure them all ut again? I’ve spent the past few weeks lking at the bundaries I’ve secretly put in place, and I’ve let myself lwer sme that have been my prtectin ver the years. Then I’ve cme t the cnclusin that, when it cmes t bundaries, I’m a beginner again, and that’s fine. In fact, being back at the beginning is a blessing because it means there are still lessns t be learned and adventures t be taken and that is smething fr which I can nly be grateful.
28.What has really interested the authr in Glennn Dyle’s prgramme?

    B. Bundaries tend t keep us frm ptential friends.
    C. Bundaries are very likely t relieve bredm at wrk.
    D. We shuld stick t bundaries whatever the case.
30.Hw did the authr feel after drawing the cnclusin abut bundaries?
    A. Relaxed and thankful.B. Astnished and regretful.
    C. Pressured and anxius.D. Amused and delighted.

根据第二段的“The hliday seasn is suppsed t be abut whm yu spend it with, a time t remember friends and family. It is a time t be grateful fr what yu have and t help ut thse less frtunate, t admire the Christmas tree in decratins and strings f lights, t spend time with friends wh have been far away. 25.答案:B
解析:推理判断题。根据第三段的“An expensive gift is nt the nly way t demnstrate affectin, despite the claims f many advertisements. The media is placing a price n the hlidays when really it shuld be abut family and friends. The cmmercializatin f the hliday seasn is verwhelming, t say the least. 26.答案:A
根据第三段的“The media is giving peple unrealistic expectatins f hlidays. It tries t tell the public that withut buying the mst expensive gifts, mst expensive Christmas trees, fd r clthes yur hliday seasn will nt be memrable.(媒体给人们带来了对假期不切实际的期望。 故选A。
根据第一段的“With the hliday seasn cming up, there has been a lt f advertising. This really gt me thinking abut ur sciety. 29.答案:B
解析:推理判断题。根据第五段中“Helpful t sme extent, it blcked me frm allwing smene t express their lve fr me, even if it wasn’t quite what I had predicted. (在某种程度上,它阻止了我允许某人表达他们对我的爱,即使这并不完全是我所预测的。)”可知,在作者看来,设置界限会阻止我们交到可能的朋友,故选B项。
    30.答案:A
根据最后一段中“Then I’ve cme t the cnclusin that, when it cmes t bundaries, I’m a beginner again, and that’s fine.
