Scientists have studied the full genetic （ 基 因的）infrmatin f mre than 18,000 cancer samples. They fund new infrmatin abut the patterns f mutatins（突变）, r changes, which culd help dctrs prvide better treatment.

Knwing mre f them “helps us t understand each persn’s cancer mre precisely,” which can help guide treatment, Nik-Zainal said.
Genetic sequencing, the prcess used t study the makeup f a cell, is already being included in cancer care. It is part f the grwing mve tward persnalized medicine, r care based n a patient’s genes and specific disease. Nw dctrs will have much mre infrmatin t draw frm when they lk at individual cancers.
T help dctrs use this infrmatin, researchers develped a cmputer prgram that will let them find cmmn mutatin patterns and seek ut rare nes. Nik-Zainal said dctrs culd suggest a treatment based n a special pattern.
