Xu Can, 34, is a nurse wh wrks in the intensive-care unit (ICU, 重症监护室) at a medical center in Xiangya Hspital. He takes care f patients in shifts (轮班) a week. But each shift is mre than 12 hurs, frm 7 a. m. t arund 7:30 p.m.
Xu cnducts a full check f each patient, including pulse (脉搏), bld pressure and lab results. After that, he watches them fr any changes that might happen during his shift.
