"Master! Master!" he cried, "There's a great ship near the island, and men are cming t the shre in a bat!"

A vlunteer experience
It was March 2018. I was finishing high schl. While I was lking frward t my cllege years, I als felt a strng desire t vlunteer abrad. After weeks f serius cnsideratin, I decided t have a gap year(间隔年).
I cannt tell yu hw many hurs I spent trying t find the prgramme I was mst interested in. I cntacted many vlunteer rganizatins. In the end, I signed up with " African Impact". I wanted t make an impact（影响）-n matter hw small-n Africa and its peple.
I tk part in the Child Care Prject. We wrked in an rphanage (孤儿院) in Cape Twn( 开普敦） and spent time with a grup f rphans（孤儿） between the ages f 0 and 3. There was nthing as exciting as seeing a baby taking her first steps, hearing a tw-year-ld girl repeat all f the letters in the alphabet after I said them, seeing a little by kick r catch balls f different sizes, and watching all f the kids carefully wash their hands as it became a habit.
