Tuching the Vid is a bk by Je Simpsn, the muntaineer. It tells the stry f hw Simpsn and anther muntaineer, Simn Yates, almst died trying t climb the 6344-metre Siula Grande Muntain（斯拉格兰山）in the Andes（安第斯山脉）in 1985． In 2003 the bk became an award-winning film.
Yates and Simpsn reached the tp f the muntain and became the first peple t climb the Siula Grande by the west face. But a disaster happened n the way dwn. Simpsn fell and brke his leg. The men were running ut f water and needed t get back t their camp,abut 900 metres belw,t get treatment fr Simpsn.
