    Unit 4 Life on MarsComic strip & Welcome to the unit 设计说明由介绍火星导入,询问学生是否愿意有朝一日去太空旅游并陈述理由,从而引入本课的话题,激活学生的背景知识,通过图片直观呈现生词,激发学生的学习兴趣,为之后谈论太空生活做好铺垫。在听读等训练中让学生完成任务,旨在培养学生信息转换和语篇阅读的能力。通过呈现和活动,让学生运用新语言知识进行有意义的表达和交流,深化他们对语言的理解,培养他们的语言运用能力。教学目标通过本课节的教学,让学生达成以下目标:1.知识目标掌握词汇:dried food, sleeping bag2.能力目标(1)了解太空旅行所需的物品;(2)思考在另一行星上的生活情景;(3)讨论在某一特定环境中生活的优点和缺点。3.情感目标学生通过比较地球生活与火星生活,提高适应环境及保护环境的意识。重点难点1. 重点:学会有关太空旅行必备物品的词汇和表达。2. 难点:用恰当的语言谈论火星生活的优缺点。教学准备PPT课件授课时数1课时教学过程Step 1 Lead-inAsk students to have a free talk.Present a picture of Mars. Questions: (1) Do you know anything about space?(2) Do you know anything about Mars?(3) What would life be like in space?(4) If you’re going to travel into space, what do you need to take with you? Why? Mars is known as the red planet—the fourth planet from the Sun. It is quite similar to the Earth. Step 2 PresentationShow some pictures to present some new words about the items that are needed for a space travel. air tank tent dried food space helmet special boots computer power pack sleeping bagStep 3 Practice1. Ask students to write the correct word under each picture. Then, check the answers together. Daniel is dreaming about visiting another planet. What should he take with him? Write the name of the item under each picture. Answers: 1. air tank 2. tent 3. dried food 4. space helmet 5. special boots6. computer 7. power pack 8. sleeping bag2. Daniel is talking to Amy about living on Mars. (2) He hates it. (3) Because of the helmet, he can’t get to his food.2. Ask students to read Comic strip.Ask students to listen to the tape and read after it. Then act out the dialogue. Step 5 Drills1. Ask students to fill in the blanks.Ask students to read Comic strip carefully and fill in the blanks. Hobo and Eddie lived on _________. Hobo asked Eddie _________ he liked the life on Mars. Eddie said that he _________ it. Hobo was _________, so he asked why. Offer students advice.Maybe humans could live on the planet Mars one day. Step 6 Language points 1. What would it be like to live on Mars? 住在火星上将会是什么样子呢? Also, there’s no fruit or vegetables…而且, 没有水果和蔬菜…… no=not any (复数可数名词/不可数名词) no=not a/an (单数可数名词) There is no milk in the bottle. =There is not any milk in the bottle. 瓶子里面没有牛奶。 There is no pears in the basket. =There is not any pears in the basket. 篮子里面没有梨。 He is no artist.=He is not an artist. 他不是艺术家。3. …I’ve never thought about travelling into space. ……我从未想过到太空旅行。think about思考;想到;考虑;认为about和of都是介词,后面常接名词、代词或动名词作宾语。表示“考虑;认为”时,think about和think of 可互换使用think of想出,想起;考虑;认为They are thinking about going shopping.他们正在考虑去购物。 What do you think of their service?你认为他们的服务怎么样?拓展:think highly of 对……高度评价    think twice 三思 think over仔细考虑, 慎重思考4. Me neither. 我也不。Me neither.在此处相当于Neither have I. Me neither.与Me too.的意义相反。拓展:(1)“neither+助动词/情态动词/连系动词be+主语” 表示前面的否定情况也适用于后者。—I don’t like playing basketball.我不喜欢打篮球。—Me neither.我也不喜欢。(2)“so+助动词/情态动词/连系动词be+主语”表示前面的肯定情况也适用于后者。—Amy will go swimming tomorrow.埃米明天将会去游泳。—So will my sister.我的妹妹也会去。5. I can’t get to my food. 我够不到我的食物。 get to作“触及;接触”讲时,与reach意思相近。 get to = arrive at/in =reach“到达”, 后接地点名词。—When did you reach the airport?你什么时候到的机场?—It was 12 o’clock when I arrived there.我到那里的时候是12点。Step 7 Homework1.
