    Peking Opera usually cmbines music, vcal perfrmance, mine, dance and acrbatics. Facial make-up is very imprtant t the aestheti f Peking Opera. The clurs are rich and depict different characters using clur symblism.

    The cstumes, ften the mst recgnisable feature f Peking Opera, are graceful, elegant, and brilliant in clur and design. They tell a character’s sex and status at first glance, marking ff peple frm all walks f life, nble r humble, civil r military. Accessries, including helmets and hats, cnstitute an integral part t bring abut dramatic stage effect.
    Stages in mst Chinese theatres are square platfrms expsed t the audience n three sides, even all sides smetimes. There are very few prps n the stage, and they are mstly used symblically. The mst cmmn nes include tables, sedan chairs, flags, hrsewhips and weapns. Mst attentin is fcused n the actrs’ and actresses’ singing and mvements.
    The basic skills f Peking Opera include dance mvements and special acrbatic mvements while singing r reciting, which are necessary requirements mastered by all actrs and actresses.
    Opera (in the Western traditin)An pera is like a play in which everything is sung instead f being spken. It incrprates a number f the perfrming arts, such as acting, scenery, cstume, and smetimes dance r ballet. The singers wh sing and act ut the stry are n the stage, and the rchestra is in frnt f the stage but lwer dwn, in the rchestra pit, s that the audience can see the stage.

    The Revenge f Prince Zidan is an adaptin f Hamlet int Peking Opera by Shanghai Jingju Theatre Cmpany. The plt fllws that f Hamlet, with Prince Zidan taking revenge upn his evil uncle, wh has murdered his father and married his mther. The prductin includes sme f Shakespeare's famus lines, such as the “T be, r nt t be” speech.
