“介词+关系代词”引导的定语从句一、关系代词的确定 “介词+关系代词”引导的定语从句中,先行词指人时关系代词用whm,不可用wh/that;先行词指物时关系代词用which,不能用that。但如果介词后置,则不受这种限制。

二、介词的选择 介词的选择可以总结为:“一先、二动、三意义、四特殊”。1.一先,即先看先行词,从先行词入手。介词往往和先行词构成固定搭配。(比如先行词表示时间,常和n,in,by搭配;表示地点,常与n,in,at搭配;表示原因,与fr搭配;表示方式,常与in,by,with搭配)D yu still remember the day n which we met fr the first time?你还记得我们第一次见面的那一天吗?(n the day)I dn't knw the reasn fr which he was late fr schl.我不知道他为何上学迟到。(fr the reasn)
2.二动,即看从句中的谓语动词。根据从句中谓语动词与介词的固定搭配选择合适的介词。Is this the car fr which yu paid a high price?这就是你花高价买的那辆汽车吗?(pay fr)This is the cmputer n which I spent 3,000 yuan.这就是我花3 000元买的电脑。(spend mney n sth.)
3.三意义:通过判断主句表达的全部意义来确定合适的介词。My cmputer,withut which I can't surf the Internet,brke dwn yesterday.昨天我的电脑坏了,没有它我无法上网。4.四特殊:介词f 常用于表示部分与整体的关系或所属关系。In ur class there are 54 students,half f whm wear glasses.我们班有54名学生,其中一半戴眼镜。

三、“介词+关系代词”的几点注意事项1.“介词+关系代词”在定语从句中分别可作时间、地点、原因状语,代替相应的关系副词when,where和why。This is the huse in which(=where) I lived tw years ag.这就是两年前我居住的那个房子。The reasn fr which(=why) he refused the invitatin is nt clear.他拒绝这个邀请的原因尚不清楚。We'd better fix a date n which(=when) we will practice spken English next week.我们最好定个日期在下周练习一下英语口语。
2.有些固定的短语动词在定语从句中作谓语时,该短语动词的介词一般不提至关系代词前,常见的此类短语动词有listen t,lk fr,depend n,take care f 等。[误]This is the watch fr which I am lking.[正]This is the watch (which/that) I am lking fr.这就是我正在找的那块手表。
3.“代词/数词+f+which/whm”引导的定语从句。The ld man has tw sns,bth f whm are lawyers.这位老人有两个儿子,他们都是律师。4.“the+名词+f+which/whm”引导的定语从句。Lk at the building,the rf f which is white.看那座楼房,它的屋顶是白色的。
5.“the+形容词比较级/最高级+f+which/whm”引导的定语从句。There are tw buildings,the larger f which stands nearly a hundred feet high.那里有两座建筑物,较大的那座几乎有100英尺高。
