Work in groups and discuss with your partner. Which disaster do you want to write about? What advice would you give on surviving it?设计意图：引导学生谈论做一个逃生手册需要的主题和内容。2. Read the brochure “How to Survive an Earthquake” on Page 41 and complete the table.设计意图：学生通过阅读How to Survive an Earthquake总结本文的结构特点，完成表格填写任务。3. Guide Ss to learn the Sentence Builder.4. Then give a list of the possible writing topics.设计意图：帮助学生复习手册写作前的准备工作。Step 2 Pre-writing1. Guide Ss to outline the brochure.2. Read Writing Help and answer the questions.(1) What is the main feature of a brochure?(2) What kind of language should you use to write a brochure?3. Guide Ss to edit the brochure in pairs. This helps writers edit with a fresh perspective. Then recommend the good brochures to the class to share.2. Guide Ss to make a presentation.3. Guide Ss to polish / revise their writing.设计意图：引导学生交换互判，根据评价标准，客观地评价同伴作品，为优秀作品提供展示机会。Step 5 AssignmentAfter polishing the brochure, take a picture of it and upload it online. The other students will look at the online brochures / writings posted by your classmates and vote the top three.设计意图：根据同伴评价及给出的修改建议，赏析优秀范文之后，修改完善个人手册/作文。学生拍照手册 / 作文（或电子版）上传。发挥个性潜能，激发学生参与的热情和创作积极性，培养批判性思维能力。
