探究一:if引导的条件状语从句的结构和用法。
一、含义:if意为“如果”,引导的从句在复合句中表示条件,做主句的条件状语,被称为条件状语从句,表示假如从句的动作发生,主句的动作就(不)会发生,表示对事情的结果进行预测。
If it desn't rain tmrrw, we will g shpping.
状语从句(Adverbial Clause) 是指句子用作状语时,起副词作用的句子。 状语从句根据其作用可分为时间、地点、原因、条件、目的、结果等从句。 状语从句一般由连词(从属连词)引导,也可以由词组引起。
二、条件状语从句的引导词。条件状语从句通常由连词if(如果;假如),unless(=if…nt, 除非;如果不)引导。Yu will get gd grades if yu study hard.如果你努力学习,就会取得好成绩。Unless yu get up early, yu’ll nt catch the schl bus.除非你早起,要不然你将赶不上校车。
三、条件状语从句的位置。条件状语从句既可以放在主句之前,也可以放在主句之后。如果放在主句之前,要用逗号与主句隔开;如果在主句之后,中间不必用逗号。If it desn't rain tmrrw, we will g shpping.如果明天不下雨,我们将去购物。Yu can pass the exam if yu study hard.如果你努力学习,你就会通过考试。
四、条件状语从句的时态。
1.由if引导的条件状语从句,如果主句用一般将来时, 从句则用一般现在时,即应遵循“主将从现”的原则,
如:If it rains tmrrw, I shan’t climb the hills. If she cmes t see me tmrrw, I’ll be happy.If Sam desn’t wrk hard, he will fail his exams.
2. 如果主句含有must /can/may 等情态动词,从句要用一般现在时。
Yu must stp if the traffic light is red.
3.如果主句是祈使句, 从句也常用一般现在时。
Please stay at hme if it rains tmrrw.
If yu eat bad fd, yu may fall ill.
【拓展】1. if还可以表示“是否”,相当于whether, 用于引导宾语从句。I dn't knw if he cme tmrrw. If he cmes, I will tell yu.(前一个if表示“是否”,后一个if表示“如果”。)2. unless(相当于, 除非,如果不), as lng as(只要)也可以引导条件状语从句。3.“withut+宾语”,有时可以改成条件状语从句。4.if引导的条件状语从句可以转换为:祈使句+and+另一个句子;如果if引导的条件状语从句是否定句,可转换为:祈使句+r+另一个句子。

5. 由连词if引导的条件状语从句, 主句不能用be ging t表示将来, 而应该用shall, will。
6. 有些句子可与含if条件状语句互相转换。(1)祈使句 + and/r + 陈述句。Hurry up, r yu’ll miss the train. = If yu dn’t hurry up, yu’ll miss the train.Yu will be healthier if yu eat well. = Eat well and yu will be healthier. (2)借助with或withut。Yu can’t drive the car with the dr pen. = Yu can’t drive the car if the dr is pen. If there is n water, fish will die. = Fish will die withut water.
If yu help me, I’ll finish the wrk n time.
= with yur help, I will finish the wrk n time.
探究二:if引导的条件状语从句替代词d的用法。
条件状语从句中的d,是替代词,代替上文中的动词短语,为避免重复,条件状语从句常用助动词d(des/did)来替代上文所提到的动作。take the bus t the party, stay at hme.上边两句可以写成:If yu take the bus t the party, yu’ll be late. If yu stay at hme, yu’ll be srry.
探究三:情态动词shuld的用法。
shuld为情态动词,意为“应该;应当”,后接动词原形,无人称和数的变化。
Yu shuld stp smking.
(1)shuld意为“应该”,表示劝告或建议。
(2)shuld表示要求或命令。
Yu shuldn’t talk in class.
(3)shuld表示预测或可能。

(4)shuld有时表示说话人的感情,如惊讶、愤怒、失望等。
