    Step 1 Warm-up
    The T can elicit the answers t the fllwing questins frm students accrding t the pictures. The T can remind Ss t use the target structure by+v-ing.

    Hw d yu imprve yur speaking skills?
    Hw d yu imprve yur reading skills?
    Then the T can play a vide and after watching the vide, make Ss talk abut the learning methds mentined in the vide. The T may ask like this:
    D yu think these ways mentined in the vide are useful?
    D yu have any ther ways t learn English well?
    Step 2 Presentatin & Practice
    Befre listening , the T can ask Ss t keep their textbks clsed while he/she intrduces the cntext f the cnversatin they are abut t hear like this:
    A grup f students are at an English club meeting and they are discussing the best ways t learn English. What questins r ways f learning English d yu think yu will hear in this cnversatin.
    Ss may then brainstrm a series f questins r ways f learning English and the T can write these n the bard.
    2a The T play the recrding and make Ss check the questins they hear. Then the T present the answer. After Ss have listened t the recrding, they can cmpare their predictins t what they actually heard in the cnversatin.
    Answer:
    2b Play the recrding again and ask Ss t match each answer with a questin. Befre listening, the T can make Ss t predict answers and cmpare their predictins with a partner.

    After listening , the T can present the listening material t the students in need t help them get the specific infrmatin abut the cnversatin.
    2c Practice T give Ss practice using the target language in cnversatins, the T can encurage Ss t make cnversatin using the infrmatin in 2a and 2b like this:
    A: Have yu ever studied with a grup?
    B: Yes, I have. I’ve learned a lt that way
    Practice: class survey. The T can d a quick class survey and ask Ss which f the methds mentined in 2a and 2b are methds which the Ss have tried r are currently using. Then the T can elicit respnses frm the Ss t find ut which methd they find mst/least effective in learning English and why.
    Step 3 Presentatin & Reading
    2d The T can divide Ss int tw grups. One grup read the Jack’s parts and the ther grup read Annie’s parts , which can help Ss t get the main idea f the passage. Then the T can ask questins t knw if Ss get the main idea:
    1.Wh has the prblem? And wh’s ging t help?
    2.What’s the prblem?
    2d The T can ask sme specific questins abut the cnversatin and make Ss read the cnversatin carefully and then answer these questins:
    1.What makes Jack feel a little nervus?
    2.What’s Jack’s prblem when he reads? And what des Annie
    suggest?
    3.What’s Jack’s prblem with wrds? And what’s Annie’s advice?

    2d The T can check Ss’ answers and fcus Ss’ attentin t the key wrds and sentence patterns in the cnversatin:
    A little nervus, be patient, wrd by wrd, wrd grups, prbably understand mre than yu think, The mre yu read, the faster yu’ll be...
    2d The T can play the recrding f the cnversatin and make Ss read after it. Pa attentin t the prnunciatin and intnatin.
    2d The T can play the vide f the cnversatin and then invite sme Ss t rle-play the cnversatin as pen pairs.
    Step 4 Language pints learning
    cnversatin n. 交谈;谈话
    (1) have cnversatins/a ( lng/shrt)cnversatin with sb. abut sth.就某事与某人交谈( 长谈/ 作简短的交谈)
    (2) make(up) a cnversatin = make a dialg 编对话
    (3) t start a cnversatin 开始对话,主动攀谈
    (4) be in cnversatin with sb. 在与某人谈话(指谈话正在进行中)
    表建议的句型:
    What =Hw abut... ? ……怎么样?
    Why dn’t yu d sth.?=Why nt d sth. ?
    你为什么不做某事呢?
    Let’s d sth.咱们做某事吧。
    Yu’d better (nt) d sth.你最好(不要)做某事。
    Yu shuld (nt) d sth.你应该(不)做某事。
    the +比较级(+ 主语+ 谓语),the +比较级(+ 主语+ 谓语)(主语)越……,(主语就)越……

    patient 常用的短语有:
    (1)be patient with sb. /sth. 对某人/ 某事有耐心;
    (2)be patient t d sth. 有耐心做某事。

    The hmewrk can vary with the specific cnditins.
    Summary The T can encurage Ss t summarize the key pints f this class t help Ss cnslidate the knwledge.

    Teaching Reflectin
    In this perid, there are mre new wrds and expressins. The T shuld prvide mre practice in listening and speaking and encurage Ss t be mre invlved. In the reading part, Ss can experience mre practice in using the target language in natural speech. In this part, the T shuld teach Ss a reading strategy— the SQ4R(survey, questins,read, recrd,recite, review).
