    Step 1 Warming up
    学生是否能够听懂并理解2a词汇关系到后面的练习是否能够顺利进行,故此处设计填词练习来介绍这些单词。
    Shw PPT P6 t Ss and ask them t cmplete the wrds, then read these wrds alud.
    (Tip: T shuld explain the wrds that Ss dn’t knw. )
    Step 2 Presentatin & Practice
    因为学生学生在完成2b练习的时候需要用到部分2a的词汇,故此处设计练习考察部分2a中会听到词汇的意思。
    对于2b的练习,回答问题和让学生对比Paula过去和现在都是在帮助学生熟悉听力材料,做听力预测。
    Pre-listening
    Shw PPT P7 t Ss and ask them t fill in the blanks using the wrds in the bx.
    (Tip: 1. T can ask Ss t share their answers t the class. 2. If Ss are familiar with these wrds, T can ask them t make sentences using the wrds in the bx.)
    Ask Ss t lk at the chart in 2b and answer the questins:
    1. Was Paula gd at schlwrk in the past?
    2. Did she like music in the past?
    3. Des she ften d any sprts nw?
    4. Has she said gdbye t music nw?
    5. Hw d yu knw all these things?
    After answering the questins, ask Ss t write dwn what they knw abut Paula in the past and nw, then talk with their partners.
    While-listening
    2a
    Play the recrding and ask Ss t finish the task in 2a.

    2b
    Play the recrding again. Ask Ss t clse their bks and take ntes fr the details while listening. Tell them that they are ging t fill in the chart in 2b based n their ntes and the wrds in 2a.
    (Tip: Ask Ss t share their answers befre T shw them the crrect answers. Shw Ss the listening material when necessary.)

    Tell Ss that they can nly use the ntes they had taken while listening t make cnversatins abut Paula. Encurage Ss t add mre things t their ntes and make things mre interesting.
    Ask Ss t wrk in pairs. One f them shuld talk abut the Paula in the past while the ther shuld talk abut the Paula in the present (refer t the sample cnversatin in the textbk). The Ss in each pair can then switch the rles.
    Step 3 Presentatin & Reading
    Pre-reading
    Shw the questins n PPT P16 t Ss. Ask them t answer the questins after reading the cnversatin.
    1. Where are the speakers?
    2. What’s the relatinship between Alfred and Gina?
    3. What are they talking abut?
    While-reading
    Shw the chart n PPT P17 t Ss. Ask them t watch a vide and fill in the chart.
    (Tip: T can draw the same chart n the bard and invite Ss t cmplete the chart n the bard.)
    Ask Ss t rle-play the cnversatin.
    (Tip: Remind Ss t pay attentin t the punctuatin, prnunciatin and intnatin.)
    Step 4 Language pints learning
    such的用法
    such det. “如此,这么”, 用于名词或名词短语前表示强调。
    such的常用搭配有:
    such + a /an + adj. + 单数名词
    such + adj. + pl. / 不可数名词
    such ... that从句
    such和s的区别:such主要修饰名词,s主要修饰形容词和副词。
    since的用法
    since是连接时间状语从句的从属连词,意思是“自从,从以来”。since作连词还可以表示“因为;既然”。
    see sb. ding sth.和see sb. d sth.的区别:see sb. sing sth.的意思是“看见某人正在做某事”,强调动作正在进行。see sb. d sth.的意思是“看见某人做某事”, 强调看见了动作发生的全过程或经常看见某一动作的发生。
    scre的用法
    get gd scres = get gd grades意思是“取得好成绩”。scre既可以作动词也可以作名词,意思是“分数;得分”。
    Step 5 Summary & Hmewrk

    Set a scene fr Ss and ask them t make a new cnversatin.
    The Ss have graduated frm schl and haven’t seen each ther fr ten years. One day, they are ging t have a classmates reunin party and all the Ss will take part in.
    Ask Ss t wrk in pairs and make a cnversatin t describe the changes f their classmates and their feelings t see each ther again.
    Summary
    Ask Ss t d the exercises frm PPT P31-32.
    Hmewrk:
    Preview the passage in 3a.
    D the exercises in students’ bk.
    Teaching Reflectin
    In this perid,the students review and learn mre adjectives t describe a persn persnality. They shuld practice these adjectives in sentence pattern “used t ...”. Listening and ral practice are imprtant in this perid. Students shuld develp a gd listening habit and they need t fcus n details and take ntes. Als, Ss need t have ral utput after listening practice.
