Step 1 Warming up
Shw Ss a vide abut the left-behind children, ask them t watch the vide and answer the questins:
1. What is this vide abut?
2. Wh d mst left-behind children live with?

Pre-reading

Befre reading, shw the picture f Li Wen t Ss, intrduce him briefly and ask Ss the fllwing questins:
1. Hw might Li Wen feel when his parents are away frm hme?

Ask Ss t read the passage and put the sentences [A-D] t the crrect places.
T may wish t tell Ss t just read what is there and guess at what the blanks shuld be filled in with. Ss can write dwn their thughts in the margins. They can then check hw clse their guesses were nce they cmplete the activity.
(Optinal chice: T can ask Ss t explain whey he/she chses t put that sentence in the blank, then use PPT P15-18 t check the answers.)

In this perid, students will learn and practice hw t guess the new wrds’ meaning by using cntext while reading the stry abut Li Wen. It is a gd time t train the students’ ability f reading quickly and efficiently. S we deal with new wrds and phrases by reading the passage again and again.They must learn sme new wrds and new language items. Reading strategies are helpful and they must learn t use them.
Anther imprtant thing is t ask the students t learn frm the character in the stry and learn t vercme their difficulties.
After reading, we can talk abut the reading passage and discuss what Li Wen and his parents may talk abut.
