    Silk is recgnized as safe fr fd r medical use, as it degrades naturally in the bdy. The silk prtein used in the new alternative material is widely available and inexpensive and the silk fibers can simply be disslved(溶解), lead researcher Benedett Marelli says. Besides, the prcessing is s simple and tun-able that the resulting material can be adapted t wrk n existing manufacturing equipment.
    Replacing nn-bidegradable micr-capsules with silk might nt wrk in every case,but given the current and future challenges related t fd insecurity, agricultural prductin, and a changing climate, the silk-based material is f great imprtance.
