“I drew inspiratin frm the shell carving prcess used t create mther- f- pearl lacquer(漆). I chse the silver thread and images frm traditinal Chinese paintings- birds, flwers, hills and rcks- as the patterns. I als added windw- frame patterns n the edge t give the entire piece the appearance f lacquerware,” she said. “It is the best- selling piece in ur stre, with 20,000 pieces sld s far,”
Having designed nearly500 sets f hanfu in just fur years, Liu has managed t turn what was nce a hbby int a stable surce f incme. She nw runs a studi and fcuses n designing hrse- face skirts.
“I hpe that the hanfu pieces I designed can easily fit int peple’s everyday lives. This is why I have priritized hrse- face skirts as my flagship(旗舰店)prduct,” Liu said, adding that the skirt is very adaptable, as it can be matched with tps and fits all age grups.
Liu’s passin fr hanfu began in cllege, where she admired the clthing but culd barely affrd it.
