    《高中英语(上外版)》必修第二册 Unit 2 Animals课时:第 2 课时 课题:Zoos:Crue or caring? 课型:Vocabulary Focus 设计者:上海嘉定区封浜高级中学 周宣汐一、教学设计与说明1. 教学目标本课为本单元的第 2 课时,核心目标为引导学生能在语境中学些和运用课文核心词汇,理解并运用同义词。2. 设计思路本课由Personal Touch导入,学生们课堂上进行互动交流,回顾第 1 课时所学的同时,激活学生关于“动物园是好事还是坏事”的讨论。随后,学生将目标词汇与话题联系起来,在语境中理解词汇意思及用法。随后,学生将语篇作者的观点态度的词代入理解人们对话题的两种截然不同的观点和感受。理解“同义词”的定义;鼓励学生从自己的词汇中列出更多同义词,建立自己的词库。最后,学生根据今天掌握的核心词汇,从过往的词汇积累中写出同义词,可以通过查找字典或者小组讨论的方式拓宽词库。本课作业为根据今天所学的目标词汇的,找到其对应的近义词,并且完成书本上对应的习题,以巩固对核心词汇的运用。3. 重点难点正确运用目标词汇表达对待同一事物的不同观点,通过学习同义词,构建学生自己的同义词词库。Lesson PlanBy the end of this lesson, students will be able to:1. further explore target words in context;2. express opinions about “animals” with target vocabulary;3. understand the introduction to “synonyms” and try to find more “synonyms” to enlarge vocabulary.Procedures:I:Lead-inPersonal Touch:Do you like visiting zoos? Meaning and use of language expressionsbe aware thatGuided questions:When you are aware that people may have different opinions on the same thing, how to voice your opinions ?2.concernGuided questions:What is a growing concern according to paragraph 2?Why people show their concern for animal welfare?3.essentialGuided questions:What are the zoos provide for the conservation projects?Funding is essential to projects designed to save these animals. What else is also essential to protect the animals?4.approachGuided questions:Can you summarize the “approach” to animal care and welfare?What’s your approach to the animal protection?5. Word Meaning: Synonyms(1)Guided questions:A synonym is a word or phrase that has s similar meaning to a another word or phrase. We use synonyms to make our writing more interesting. Words from any part of speech (e.g. nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs or prepositions) can have synonyms. (2)For example:Amazing, surprising, unbelievable, wonderfulCar, auto, automobile, motorcarParticipate, take part, joinQuickly, fast, rapidlyOn, upon(3)Do the underlined words in sentences A and B have similar or opposite meanings?Group 1When I was little, I loved going to zoos.Now, at the age of 20, I still enjoy visiting them.Group 2Additionally, some animals become unhappy in zoos because there isn’t enough space.Moreover, many zoos attempt to replicate an animal’s natural habitat.(4)Match each word with the sentence containing its synonym.▲attempt A.
