    本课为本单元的第一课时,旨在引导学生理解语篇内容,了解未来智能房屋的特征及功能,以及本篇说明文的篇章结构和文体特征,掌握与未来主题相关的词汇及常见搭配, 体会科技进步对人类文明的有利影响。首先,教师请学生思考我们的住所在过去的几十年里发生了怎样的变化,并想象未来住所可能的样子,预测课文内容;然后引导学生通过预测、略读、扫读等策略寻找文中提到的未来智能房屋的主要特征及功能,并分析文中对相关细节的描写;最后教师引导学生讨论作者对未来生活的态度。

    By the end f this perid, students will be able t:
    Understand the main cntent f the text and describe the features f the future hme;
    Knw the meaning f the expressins such as weather-prf, slar-pwered, butler, etc. in the cntext ;
    Talk abut the changes taking place in the future hme and reflect n the impact f scientific and technlgical prgress n human civilizatin.
    Prcedures:
    *T: Shw students pictures abut where peple live in the past and at present. Ask students t brainstrm what ur future hmes will be like.
    *Ss: Brainstrm what ur hmes will be like in the future.
    Purpse: T get familiar with the tpic and make predictins abut the passage.

    Guided questin:
    What will ur hmes be like in the future?
    *T: Ask students t take a lk at the title f the passage and explain the wrd “dme”.
    *Ss: Guess the meaning f the title.
    Purpse: T learn the new wrd “dme” and aruse curisity.

    Have yu heard the idim “Hme, sweet hme?”
    *T: Ask students t read the title, the pre-reading questins and the first paragraph and pick ut the wrds describing the key features f the future hme and explain the key wrds.
