    一、教学设计与说明
    1. 教学目标
    本课为本单元的第 4 课时,核心目标为帮助学生获取多模态资源所传达的语篇信息,帮助学生更好地适应高中生活,并培养跨文化意识。
    2. 设计思路
    首先,通过教材中的 4 张图片引起学生共鸣,让学生进行初高中生活的对比。之后,基于听力材料,通过提问、填表和探究思考等活动,对涉及到的建议进行梳理,从而使学生更好地理解语篇的大意和细节。接着,教师调查学生对高中生活最大的担忧以及入学第一天的感受,从而引出视听环节。通过预测及回答问题,帮助学生掌握多模态资源所传达的关键信息,同时引导学生对父亲的建议进行思考。本课作业为学生选取课堂中提到的一个建议谈谈看法。
    3. 重点及难点
    能培养良好的视听习惯,如预测、听中记等,从而更好地获取语篇的重要信息;能理解并运用建议,更好地适应高中生活。

    better adapt t the new life f senir high schl by srting ut the tips frm senir students and Lizzie’s father;
    raise crss-cultural awareness by knwing the first week f high schls in different cuntries.
    Prcedures:
    Warm-up
    T: Ask students t lk at the pictures and talk abut what’s new abut senir high schl life.
    Ss: View the pictures carefully and share the differences they have fund.
    Purpse: T prepare students fr the tpic and aruse students’ interest.
    Interactive task 1: initiate the tpic
    Guided questins/Instructins:
    What’s new abut yur senir high schl life?
    Listening
    T: Ask students t listen t the audi clip and chse the answers t the questin.
    Ss: Listen carefully and answer the questins.
    Purpse: T help students grasp the basic infrmatin f the listening material.
    Interactive task 2: listen fr the main idea
    Guided questins/Instructins:
    Which tips are given t the first-year students?
    What tw phrases shw that they are the mst imprtant tips?
    T: Have students listen t each tip again. Ask them t answer the questins and fill in the blanks. Remind students t pay attentin t the details and take ntes if necessary.
    Ss: Listen carefully and take ntes. Answer the questins and fill in the blanks.
    Purpse: T let students get relevant tips, examples and reasns; t help students understand the infrmatin cnveyed by the listening material.
    Interactive task 3: listen fr the details & dig in
    Guided questins/Instructins:
    Why is jining clubs a great way t meet new friends?
    What’s the mst imprtant thing fr the third student?
    Besides jining clubs, what else can we d?
    Why des the speaker strngly recmmend us t ‘try smething new’?
    Viewing
    T: D a survey and investigate students’ biggest cncern abut senir high schl life and their feelings n the first day.
    Ss: Interact with the teacher.
    Purpse: T prepare students fr the tpic.
    Interactive task 4: initiate anther tpic
    Guided questins/Instructins:
    What is yur biggest cncern abut senir high schl life?
    Hw did yu feel n the first day f senir high schl?
    T: Ask students t lk at the picture in the textbk and guess Lizzie’s feelings abut senir high schl. Have students watch the vide.
    Ss: Discuss Lizzie’s feelings. And then watch the vide and check their guess.
    Purpse: T intrduce the listening strategy f predictin; t help students grasp the general idea.
    Interactive task 5: view fr the general idea
    Guided questins/Instructins:
    Hw des Lizzie feel accrding t the picture?
    Hw many characters are there in the vide? Wh are they?
    T: Play the vide again and ask students t finish Exercise III n Page 11.
    Interactive task 6: view fr the details & dig in
    Remind students t take dwn ntes if necessary.
    Ss: Take dwn relevant ntes and finish the exercise.
    T: Ask several questins related t the details while checking the answers.
    Ss: Think ver the questins and share their ideas.
    Purpse: T mtivate students t think deeply; t help students understand the tip frm Lizzie’s father.
    Guided questins/Instructins:
    What verb did Lizzie’s father use t describe ‘he was thrwn int the dustbin’?
    Why did Lizzie’s father recall his wn embarrassing experiences?
    What’s the result f Lizzie’s every try?
    What can we learn frm Father’s advice?
    T: Remind students t pay attentin t Lizzie’s alter eg and have them discuss hw Lizzie’s alter eg wuld respnd t father’s advice.
    Ss: Think critically and share their versins.
    T: Intrduce the culture link sectin t students.
    Purpse: T help students cmprehend the viewing material; t have students think critically; t raise students’ crss-cultural awareness.
