The main purpse f descriptive writing is t describe a persn, place r thing in such a way that a picture is frmed in the reader’s mind. The success f descriptive writing lies in details. There are tw majr ways t make detailed descriptins --- using dialgues and --- using five senses (sight, hearing, taste, tuch and smell).
Hw t write a descriptive essay utline?
1. The Intrductin The intrductin f a descriptive essay wuld help the audience understand what yu will discuss thrughut yur entire essay; therefre, make sure that yu explain it clearly.
A basic and general descriptive essay utline wuld cnsist f the intrductin, the bdy and the cnclusin.
1. The Intrductin The intrductin culd be further devided int three cmpnents, which are the hk, backgrund infrmatin,and thesis statement. The hk is an attentin-getter, and the purpse is t engage the audience. The backgrund infrmatin is given t develp the credibility f the writer. Whereas, the thesis statement talks abut the main tpic f the essay.
2. The Bdy The bdy is an essential part f a basic descriptive essay as the main discussin is dne here. It further cnsists f three segments that are the tpic sentence, sensry detail, and the actual details. The tpic sentence infrms that audience what yu will discuss in the bdy, the sensry details tell the basic, and the actual details talk abut the main crux f the essay.
3. The Cnclusin The cnclusin is the ending f the essay, and it finalizes the whle idea and purpse f the descriptive essay. Ending the essay abruptly leaves a negative impressin n the reader; therefre, always try t end the discussin in a clsing tne. Yu shuld summarise all the pints and finish it n a clincher.

I went t Shanghai Science and Technlgy Museum during the winter hliday in February with my parents and my cusin, Mia. We enjyed urselves a lt. Thus, I can’t frget the wnderful experience.
We arrived at the museum n a Wednesday mrning, s I saw nly a few peple and children. The whle exhibitin halls were spacius and quiet. We watched a 5D mvie abut dinsaurs. The effects were great and enchanting. We als read sme infrmatin abut spaceships and astrnauts. I was als lucky enugh t experience the weightlessness in space with the help f staff there.
