Back in the 1950’s the idea f Chinese fd in the UK and America was simplistic; tinned Chinese curries (咖喱菜肴), prcessed fds and cnfused flavurs, like Chinese fd n pizza. Takeut restaurants were few and far between and ther cuisines with less experimental flavurs were favured by Western palates (味蕾).

Nwadays, mre frequent travel f British peple t China fr business r leisure has expsed cnsumers t mre varieties and bth authentic (正宗的) and mdern Chinese flavurs. N lnger d thse living in the West fear cmplex, unfamiliar and unaccustmed flavurs; instead they accept the cntrast and try t include them int their diet.
32. What happened t Chinese fd after the first Chinese restaurant pened in Lndn?
A. It went thrugh great changes.
B. It went unnticed fr a lng time.
C. It was mainly sld as takeut fd.
D. It started t have a big share f the lcal market.
33. What did Kenneth L d t prmte Chinese fd?

D. He travelled acrss China t learn Chinese cking.
34. Why are Chp Suey and frtune ckies mentined in paragraph 4?
