IV.语法要点 强调句
能够强调的成分,主语,宾语,表语,定语,状语,宾语补足语。(除谓语之外的成分)
一、强调句的结构
1.It is ( was )+被强调的部分(状语)+ that +句子
这种结构用来强调状语,表示状语成分的可以是单词、词组或句子。句子可以是主语从句、宾语从句或状语从句。强调的如果是原因状语从句,只能由 because 引导,不能由 since 、 as 或 why 引导。例如:
It was last summer that I went t the z t see the lvely panda .
我是去年夏天去动物园看到了可爱的熊猫。(时间状语)
It was n the TV that I first saw the Shenzhu XV manned spacecraft .
我是在电视上第一次见到神州十五号载人航天飞船。(地点状语)
It is because his paper - cutting impressed many freigners that they knw the cncept f " harmny is invaluable ".
正是因为他的剪纸作品给外国友人留下深刻象,他们才了解到中国文化"以和为贵"的精神内涵。(原因状语)
2. It is ( was )+代词(名词/形容词)+ that ( w、wh、whh、whse )+句子
这种结构强调名词或代词,这个名词或代词可以是后面句子的主语、宾语或宾语补足语;如果这个名词或代词是主语,则直接用 that +谓语。这时,句中的 that 可用 wh、whm、which 等代替。例如:
It was Prfessr Wang that ( wh ) taught us hw t tell Chinese stries in English .
是王教授教我们如何用英语讲中国故事。(主语)
It is this ftball team that ( which ) they talked abut last week .
他们上周谈论的就是这只足球队。(宾语)
3. It is time ( that )+句子
that 从句可以使用一般过去时,也可以使用"( shuld )+动词原形"形式。例如:
It is time that yu made up yur mind t exercise mre . 你该下决心多锻炼身体了。
It is time we shuld cherish what we have. 我们是时候该珍惜当下所拥有的了。
二、强调句的时态
原句中使用了表示过去的时态(一般过去时、过去进行时、过去将来时或过去完成时),改为强调句后用 It was …;原句中没有使用表示过去的时态,强调句用 It is …。
三、使用此句型时,应注意以下几点:
1. 当被强调的部分指人时,要用wh或that。当被强调的部分是宾语,又是指人时,要用whm或that,但通常多用that。
It was a yung scientist wh (that) slved this prblem five years ag.(强调主语)
正是一位年轻的科学家五年前解决了这个问题。
It was Li Ming whm (that) I met at the railway statin last week. (强调宾语)
上个星期我在车站遇到的人正是李明。
2. 当被强调部分指物时,只用that。
It is a new bike that his brther wants t buy.他兄弟想买的正是一辆新自行车。
It was the legislature that played the decisive rle in declaring war.正是立法机构在宣战时起决定性作用。
3. 当被强调的部分是状语时,只能用that,不能用when或where。
It was because her mther was ill that she didn’t g with us.
正是因为她母亲病了,她才没有和我们一起去。
It was in the library that he brrwed that nvel. 正是在图书馆里他借了那本小说。
4. 当被强调的部分是主语时,句子的谓语动词要和被强调的主语保持一致。
It is he wh is late. 正是他迟到了。
It is they that were late. 正是他们迟到了。
5. 一般疑问句的强调句型为:“Is (was) it that…”;特殊疑问句的强调句型为:“特殊疑问词+is (was) it+that…?”。
Was it ten years ag that his father died?他的父亲是十年前去世的吗?
When is it that yu will g t Shanghai?你到底什么时候去上海?
6. “nt…until…”句型的强调结构为“It is nt until…that…”,应注意把否定词nt 转移到until前面。
普通句:He didn't g t bed until his wife came back. 直到他妻子回来他才睡觉。
强调句:It was nt until his wife came back that he went t bed.
普通句:I didn’t knw the news until yesterday. 直到昨天我才知道这个消息。
强调句:It was nt until yesterday that I knew the news.
强调谓语
用助动词d或其变化形式des,did来强调句中谓语动词,用来加强陈述句和祈使句的语气,译作“的确”,“一定”,“确实”。如:
He did send yu a letter last week.
