    the Malayan [mə'leiən] tiger马来亚虎

    Tigers are symbls f strength and curage.

    brave [breɪv]adj. 勇敢的
    In many stries, tigers are brave.

    As frests disappear, tigers lse their hmes.

It helps keep the number f ther wild animals in balance. Fr this reasn, tigers are imprtant t the envirnment.
    In recent years, tigers have been in danger f disappearing. Sme peple hunt and kill tigers fr mney. Peple have cut dwn a lt f trees as well. As frests disappear, tigers lse their hmes. The number f tigers in the wild is quickly decreasing and we must d smething abut it.

    the number f “……的数量”
    the number f与a number f的辨析(1). the number f是固定短语, 意为“…的数量”, 后接可数名词复数, 但中心词是number, 所以谓语动词要用单数。(2). a number f为量词短语, 意为“许多; 大量”, 相当于a lt f或lts f, 中心词是该短语所修饰的可数名词复数, 所以作主语时, 谓语动词用复数形式。

    【拓展】as well常用作状语, 作“又; 也”解, 相当于t或als, 一般位于句末, 不用逗号与句子分开。
    【辨析】 “也”的不同表达
    【拓展】  as well as常用来连接两个并列的成分, 作“也, 还”讲时, 它强调的是前一项, 后一项只是顺便提及。因此连接并列主语时, 谓语动词与前一项一致; 而nt nly. . . but als. . . 连接并列主语时, 谓语动词与后一项一致。
